Game Thread “Josh” 7/21/19 1:10 CDT Twins vs. Athletics

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

I’m loving the patient approach today.

You might love it, but I doubt the patient is loving it

Whenever a Twins batter comes up to the plate with bases loaded I just know things are gonna go great!

[Tom Froemming]

Another at 'em ball, my goodness.

Answering with a run there was nice, gave the pitching staff some more breathing room, but you obviously gotta come away with another run in a bases loaded no outs situation.

[bighat]

The Twins once again waste an opportunity, meanwhile the incessant dubstep and heavy metal is blasted between every pitch from the PA booth. The mickey-mousing of Target Field is especially irritating when the Twins aren't playing well.

[HawksNest]

That was our chance to SLAM the door shut.

Just can't make it up

[bighat]

How about an old fashioned 1-2-3 Miguel?

[MNT1996]

Interesting stat: Twins have a .540 OPS with bases loaded this season. There are 29 teams in baseball with a better OPS than that with bases loaded.

I like Pineda coming back out here. Might turn out to be the wrong move, but I like it.

[Aggies7]

Man that needed to be a 3 run inning

[glunn]

Lots of empty seats behind home plate.

[IndyTwinsFan]

Question: What's a surefire way for a team to ensure the Twins don't score in an inning, short of a 1-2-3 inning?

Answer: Let them load the bases with less than 2 out.

Rest assured, seemingly far more often than not, the Twins will find a way to not score.

AARGH!

They're really missing out on a great view of all the clutch hits today.

[Tom Froemming]

Jeez is Laureano a pain in the neck or what?

Doesn't surprise me in the least.

[ashbury]

I think it also said they had a 99.9% chance of winning at some point last night.

And two times out of three, that's how it would have come out.

[glunn]

Nice sequence by Pineda.

partially agree...

...let me see how this turns out, before I fully agree

[HawksNest]

Honestly, minus the speed, he's what I hope Buxton can someday turn into.

[ashbury]

Except for HRs, Adrianza is every bit as good as Escobar was.

And except for the last 11 inches, I'm exactly as tall as Karl-Anthony Towns.

[Tom Froemming]

Pineda with six straight sliders to Davis.

[ashbury]

Was that Snidely laughing in the background  of the broadcast?

Yes, and he did it snidely too.

[Tom Froemming]

Great job by Oakland there. Two very tough plate appearances to knock out Pineda.

[Tom Froemming]

And I'm back out, may The Force be with you Ryne Harper!!!!

[GCTF]

For your viewing pleasure...here comes the pen. Smile and enjoy.

[glunn]

Yes, and he did it snidely too.

I was wondering if I imagined that.

[bighat]

Bullpen's game to win now. Three run lead, 11 outs to get. This is exactly the type of game where we need these guys to perform. No Magill, no Morin, let's see how this plays out.

[GCTF]

Maybe Mharper will be the next bullpen guy out of town.

[FLTwinsGuy]

Oh here we go....

[HawksNest]

Buckle up!
