Diesel Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Author Posted July 21, 2019 A note on the name of this thread.... Josh Hamilton vs. Justin Morneau in the Home Run Derby was incredible. As a baseball fan, I was pretty concerned for the guy, given his past issues with drugs and alcohol. However, I learned that he’s getting inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame and is recovering well! One of the most exciting players of his era.

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Aw, nutz. Davis decides to strike out a day late.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 one little click and all my search pages are showing fluevog ads. I'm not sorry.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Buxton would have had that. So did Laureano. Pretty nice catch.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I like Smalley in the booth. Very knowledgeableStill partial to Tom Kelly. Whoever he was working with (usually Bremer) would almost have to force him to say something, but I always felt smarter after listening to him for a game. Definitely not a natural, outspoken type. But IMO one of the great baseball minds ever.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 He wasn't also into railroad track bondage, was he?Of course this comes from a Canadian.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Crystal ball, aka Future CBU: Cruz homers here.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 At this point with how consistent Pineda has been lately I'd take him over almost anybody in our rotation to start an important game.I think he's finally getting back after being out for so long. But then I say that ... I could've just jinxed it. Yeah, I'm that superstitious. Or, cynical. (answer: yes)

GCTF Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Time of game...4 hours and infinity minutes.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Very curious to see how Pineda maneuvers through the rest of this game. He's thrown a ton of sliders today, and it's been an outstanding pitch for him today. Does he keep going to the well? Is it too cute/overthinking it to try to mix it up more?

nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 We'll let you know as soon as someone takes him deep.Dude, not cool. That was defiantly a Snidely move.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Lots more changeups this inning, though that homer was on a fastball.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I'm more Dudley than Snidely.Well, that's boring. (Women don't really want to be rescued, and we always like our bad boys. ) (And yes, don't quote me on that ... I've thrown my gender partially under the bus with the bad boys comment ... but not the rescue comment.)
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Game is moving slooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooo ooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly
bighat Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Dang, lead cut in half. You can hear the wind has been taken out of the stadium. Meanwhile the Twins have been stranding baserunners left and right. Outhitting the A's, chased their starter...but only up 2. Better than being down 2, I guess. But c'mon guys, let's pile on a bit for a change here.We need offense.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Maybe the better question would be location. Everything has been down, which I get, but at a certain point if guys know that's where you're trying to live they're going to be waiting for you on your front door. Oh, that got creepy.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Kohl Stewart - Rocco = ground ball pitcher needed
bighat Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 A very "July Twins" game today. Matt Olsen up, who thinks he hits a 3-run HR here?
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Well, that's boring. (Women don't really want to be rescued, and we always like our bad boys. ) I’ll remember that next time I see you tied to the train tracks.
bighat Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 A very "July Twins" game today. Matt Olsen up, who thinks he hits a 3-run HR here? Way to strike him out, Pineda! Now let's get out of this and ease all of our fears a bit.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 High fastball got him. Feels like lots of adjusting and counter adjusting going on here.
