Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Nice. I think it's especially important for the Twins to maintain a multi-run lead here because it will ensure Oakland will go to their bullpen B squad. With a huge series with the Astros starting tomorrow, they have every incentive to rest their best relievers.
KL1551 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 This teams inability to hit with RISP lately is driving me nuts.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 9 walks in half a game? Who’s the home plate umpire?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I’ll remember that next time I see you tied to the train tracks.I always have a knife on me ... I'll be fine.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Okay ... gotta run ... hope I come back to good news ... but will be preparing for ... not good news.
mickeymental Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 according to azsnakepit.com, it can be done: 47 pitchers in history have picked up four-inning saves, facing the minimum 12 batters and allowing no hits or walks.

ashbury Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Marwin is there to get things going in the fifth. Let's GO!
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Pineda is at 93 pitches, Harper was warming in the pen. Will be an interesting decision to make coming back out of this half inning.

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Can we pleez score here ---2 on zero out
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 9 walks in half a game? Who’s the home plate umpire? So, I looked it up. https://www.statfox.com/mlb/umpiremain.asp Never heard of the guy. It is worth noting of all the home plate umpires calling games today, he has the highest average number of walks per game. Suggests a small zone.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I'm more Dudley than Snidely.I had you categorized as Nell. That could have been a faux pas, if I had said it out loud.
Tom Froemming Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 When is Luis Arraez T-shirt night?
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Pineda is at 93 pitches, Harper was warming in the pen. Will be an interesting decision to make coming back out of this half inning.I hope that no matter what Rogers is allowed to rest today.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Gamecast sez we have an 89.8% chance of winning this game. What do they know that we don't?
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Pineda is at 93 pitches, Harper was warming in the pen. Will be an interesting decision to make coming back out of this half inning.Harper warming up would suggest the decision has already been made.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Time of game...4 hours and infinity minutes.Four hours to go, then?
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 To use on the rope? Or Snidely?I would guess both, plus a few of Snidely's henchmen.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Arraez and shine!
twins1095 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Expectations. Buxton still gets the same treatment. Rosario did when he was swinging at everything. These are players that have been expected to be stars for years. We have been told that they are capable of being outstanding hitters. When they fail, it's only natural for everyone to offer opinions about the reasons. Adrianza? Castro? Nobody really expects them to hit, so none of us is surprised when they fail. Kepler and Polanco get some flak when they go into a slump, but this year they have been fairly consistent. I mean Rosario still swings at bad pitches, gets on base less than Sano because he swings at bad pitches, and goes through long stretches of slumps at times. He doesn't get the same treatment as Sano.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 This would be a good squeeze situation.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Huge run..now u better get that other one in
