Ooof.  If this game was at Target Field and I was there, sure I would stay.  But this is on teevee at the worst park in MLB and my alarm is going off at 3:15 tomorrow.  Buh-bye.

Faith is fine as far as it goes, but it doesn't go as far as making up for being down by double digit runs before your team has had its second hit.

I'm hoping for a 3-1 series at this point.

Like Brock mentioned....a series split against the Rays would be very promising. After this game....holding the Rays to single digits now would be promising.

Again, I ask what is the point of this magical 13th pitcher? They don't get anyone out so it's not like they're saving bullets on the slightly more trustworthy options.

Also, how much of Perez's awfulness can be attributed to two extra days off between starts?

I would guess at least some of it as he wasn't hitting his spots at all.

Time for Littell to get on the next plane to Rochester. He's had plenty of chances, never has taken advantage of them. Doesn't seem to be MLB caliber from what we've seen in the past 2 years.

The dude's thrown 23 innings in the majors... yeah, he was throwing BP out there in the 4th, but I think you gotta give the kid more chances. We've talked about how we need to calm down about Perez having a bad start, so maybe we should do the same with Littell.

I’m at the game and it’s depressing. Really sloppy play tonight. Perez couldn’t hit a spot to save his life, defensive miscues that are very uncharacteristic, and Littell has been awful. Trying to justify sticking this out, but we can put a bunch in the board with the best of em, still a lot of baseball to play.

Bummed we didn’t throw Berrios tonight, but even if we lose tonight, not gonna worry. Perez has a ton of time of between starts.

I'm back to civilization after a brief trip into the Boundary Waters...It was a rough trip: Too much rain, cold, wind, bourbon and bears.  However, I did make it back and looking forward to a game on the TV tonight versus the radio. I had to pry my rain gear off with a crowbar yesterday but I'm mostly in good health overall.  Thanks for all the notes of encouragement while away on my adventure.

Go Twins!

Is there such a thing as too much bourbon?

That's why I'm still watching. They're not going to win, but there's still time for some fireworks.

Buxton has a nice triple, fun to watch. He’s so fast.

OOF. I checked the score while I'm out driving tonight (I'm parked. Don't use your phone while you drive, kiddos) and quickly hit that back button. Better luck to the boys tomorrow.

In cold and rain? No. Cold and rain with bears? Yes.

Unless they're Wisconsin bears, in which case you just have to surrender what's left of your bourbon.

Well, if he didn't save any for tonight, then yes.

you know, if I wanted this kind of drama, I'd be home hanging out with my 13 year old daugher... not you guys... It's a game. We're losing... on a team that's otherwise won most of its games.

If you think of it like tennis, they're sort of tied. Two for them, two for us. They just... won their sets by more.

Moderator's note: It's been easy to have fun at most of the game threads this season. This isn't one of those games. Please remember the two main rules of conduct throughout the site:

  • No personal attacks. In this case, criticize the play of the team, don't critique other posters.
  • No trolling. Don't post just to get a rise out of people, or to make broad sweeping points that belong better in one of the regular threads.

Thanks, and let's see if our guys can pull this one out anyway!

Dangerous charge on the carpet there by Astudillo!

Since I can't see the game, I'll assume you aren't talking about over extending his credit to get new floor covering....

He bought the scotch guard.

We'll let them have their fun today. 3 fresh games coming up for us the next 3 days. We're gonna win all 3.

Also wouldn't surprise me if Littel is sent down on Sunday when Garver comes up.

Moderator's note

I'm guessing this was about me trolling Wisconsin bears by implying they're all drunks, so thanks for not mentioning me by name or giving me a warning point. I hope.
