DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Harper...more than just a fun story.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 What's up with Schoop? Second time tonight he's almost messed up a routine play? And then last week the deek on his own firstbaseman! ???
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 Twins win!!! Absolutely fantastic outing from Devin Smeltzer, the bullpen does a decent job, and the bats do what they do. Get clutch hits and runs when they need them most. This season feels like something special. Enjoy the day off tomorrow, and stay safe! Go Twins!!! Also, I am now 10-3 in game threads I've started. I should do this more often.
cmoss84 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Ordered a Smeltzer tee shirt and it arrived today. Just sayin.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Smeltzer earned another start with his performance tonight. I'll be curious to see what the Twins do with the rotation if he looks really good again.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Hope to see Buxton again, and soon.
tarheeltwinsfan Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 That was an awesome game. You know it is emotional if tough Jack Morris gets choked up. Way to go Twins. Just Awesome!

I'll be curious to see what the Twins do with the rotation if he looks really good again. He'll get another shot for sure. Long season. But he could also end up in the pen for this season and be a candidate for the rotation in 2020.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Chicken for dinner tonight, folks! An open faced fried chicken sandwich? No gravy? No mashed potatoes? No dressing? No bacon, tomato or greens? Pretty sure that doesn’t count as a sandwich.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Also, I am now 10-3 in game threads I've started. I should do this more often. Twins, after glancing at the standings: "We're 27-14 in other games. Who needs you?"

Pretty sure that doesn’t count as a sandwich. The opponent is Milwaukee. So I searched for Milwaukee chicken specialties and this came up. I didn't want to go all gourmet-like on everyone.
tarheeltwinsfan Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 I'm glad we're all enjoying this together. Thanks Twins Daily. What a great website.

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 10-3>27-14. Also, those stats aren't all from this year. Look, I can either do subtraction, or division, or logic. Not all three at once.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Buxton crashing into a wall again sours the win, but what an amazing story (and performance) for Smeltzer.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 So when the Twins offer Smeltzer for Scherzer, what else will Washington have to give up?Uh, I think you meant when Washington offers Scherzer for Smeltzer.

jkcarew Verified Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Who was the last Twins player not named Puckett or Carew who had 200 hits in a season? (Hint coming if nobody gets it)Paul Molitor in 1996. (Not that I didn’t love me some César Tovar.)
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Paul Molitor in 1996. (Not that I didn’t love me some César Tovar.)Nice catch.MLB.com has it wrong, which surprises me. They simply leave Molitor off the list.
