News on Sano?

I'd take Reynolds's 223 strikeouts along with his 44 bombs, .381 wOBA, and 127 OPS+ and wRC+ that season any season.

No Twins player not named Herman ever hit so many home runs in a season.

Looking at strikeouts in a vacuum does not make much sense...

do you mean Chris Herrmann???(just kidding I know what you meant.....LMMFAO

MLB IL. He was last on a MLB roster.

That is hard to believe. Do you mean to tell me our whiz kid FO missed a chance to screw another player out of their major league service time??? You Slippin Derek!

Any 40-man roster player who is injured in the offseason or before they are optioned in spring training has to go on the MLB DL IL. Even if they finished the previous season in the minors.

That's part of the reason why some 40-man roster guys get optioned relatively early in spring training.

Sorry man I couldn't resist the opportunity to fling some sarcasm out there. I'm not over the whole K.Stewart vs. Verlander massacre.

The club could option Sano after his rehab, as they just did for/to Moya. They did that to Buxton last year (for performance reasons) and then failed to recall him (for team control reasons IMHO) in September.

I hope Sano returns and hits like it is the first half of 2017. If he hits (and plays defense) as he has for the last year and a half (when healthy) he should be in the minors.

Does this also mean that Gordon and Gonsalves are burning MLB service time?

No, they were both optioned in spring training before they got hurt (March 12).

Sano was hurt before he could be optioned -- not that he would have been optioned this spring anyway. A better example might be Moya, who also got hurt this spring before he could be optioned -- he earned MLB service time up until April 24th, when he was finally healthy enough to be activated (and optioned).

I still think that Sano is a walking (barely, evidently) accident waiting to happen and, as soon as he recovers from the last one, its on to the next one. Make all the excuses you want for that accident during a celebration in the DR and then the ridiculously long recovery time. That story raises as many questions as it answers. If/when he comes back he will either play himself out of the position or, if he is actually performing up to his All Star level, the next trip to the injured list will be right around the (hot) corner.

The rest of the month at Target should be interesting and then let the season begin.

Yeah, he's always injured just like David Ortiz was too.

If Sano is wise he would NEVER read anything written about him. :)

The problem with that is, how would he know it's about him until he reads it?

He has people for that.

"Mr. Sano. You see this article, over here? Right, another one to not read."
