twins_89 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 I'm not a fan of quantity over quality in prospect trade packages. I guess we'll find out if the Twins front office can identify prospects who are better than the consensus ratings would indicate.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 They have one in ScottsdaleGood for Escy then. Doesnt have to give up that Fogo power and gets a chance for the playoffs.
NewClearHarley Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Without at least one of Duplantier, Widener, Varsho or Ellis.....if Duplantier isnt in as piece #1 than I'm out if I'm the Twins - unless they are sending us Archie Bradley or one of their 17 MLB OF'ers
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Here's my hope YerzyPerdomo/Blaze Alexander SSYoung/Reed LHP

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Fogo de Chao's stock just plummeted. You will be missed Eduardo.something tells me Esco will be making frequent trips to Scottsdale during home standshttps://fogodechao.com/locations

notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 It's how we got Escobar in the first place. I wasn't pleased to get 2 minor leaguers for Liriano. It worked out. Did it really work out? Escobar's clearly been the more valuable player but his presence on the team made for one playin game.
purppride1 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 A year ago we would have been happy to get three baseballs for Escobar. Let's wait and see the names before throwing our hands up in disgust. Low but rising prospects are often better than highly rated but plateauing prospects.
Puckett34 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 One of the returns needs to be Yerzy, right?
Roaddog Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 I think people are overvaluing Escobar. He's a 29 year old infielder who's due to be a free agent. And how many of our Top 10 prospects are actually in AAA?
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 This guy isn't on their Top 10 list Kristian Robinson only 17 from the Bahama's so I guess that'd be pushing the window a little further down the road
lukeduke1980 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Hopefully this is an indication of Sano progress also
KirbyDome89 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Those are not the deals being offered for 2-month rentals, these days.It depends on the rental. If that's the best they can do then so be it. The point was that all too often the Twins are too conservative, i.e. they're more worried about floor than the ceiling.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 One of the returns needs to be Yerzy, right?I would hope...but it's not spring so it won't be eternal
NewClearHarley Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 listen I know we are not getting duplantier from them, however ARI's two-five prospects would rank 15th-20th on anyother minor league team except for maybe Anaheim and Boston. Seriously any #15 prospect from MIL would be better than any combo of crap that ARI will send us
Foghorn Leghorn Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Sources: The Twins are getting RHP Jhoan Duran, OF Ernie De La Trinidad and OF Gabriel Maciel from the Diamondbacks for Eduardo Escobar. All three are at Class A Kane County.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 More on Blaze Alexander from mlb pipeline "Clearly the D-backs feel good about Alexander being able to continue to hit and become an all-around shortstop, even if it takes a while. If all else fails, he can always follow in his dad's footsteps to the mound, where he was 93-95 mph as a raw thrower in high school."

And how many of our Top 10 prospects are actually in AAA? he was also a borderline allstar who can play effectively at four positions is an extra base machine and by all accounts was the most sought after MI available behind Machado in this years trade class. I don't mind that we traded him I just don't like that we traded him to a team with a bottom 2/3 farm system.
tvagle Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 Ernie De La Trinidad http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=670797#/career/R/hitting/2018/ALL
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 27, 2018 Author Posted July 27, 2018 Gabriel is the 11th ranked prospect on MLB.com Seems like a fourth outfielder type to me. Only 19 years old, so a few years off to say the least. Sounds like he relies on his legs, and won't hit for much power, hence the 4th outfielder tag I gave him. Jhoan Duran is 19th on MLB.com, and is 20 years old.Fastball is mid 90's, and has sink. Ground ball pitcher. Curveball could project to be a plus pitch, and changeup is in development. Says his control is what needs improved. Ceiling is a No. 3 starter. Ernie De Lad Tridiad is not in the top 30. Short guy, bats and throw left handed. 19th round pick in 2017. Seems to have good minor league numbers. Don't know much on him, so not going to comment. About what I expected, but would have liked to see Yerzy in the return. Sad to see Escobar go.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 I could not be more disappointed. This is awful.
