Jerry Kindall. Another Twins St. Paul native. He somehow survived long enough in pro ball to amass over 2000 AB's with a career average of .213. Might still be the lowest average for a player with that many AB's. He filled in at other positions, and I think I recall him actually catching in a game.

 

Not many of us recall his major league career, but he now has a stadium named after him. He led the Arizona Wildcats to three college world series championships and is in the College Baseball Hall of Fame.

Mike Pagliarulo was a key contributor to my favorite Twins team of all-time, the 1991 miracle World Series team. :-)

Don't know if you should even mention Pags without his platoon partner Scott Leius.    I never thought the 91 WS team should have miracle attached to it.   That was a really good team   If you want to say miracle then 87 would be the year.    Just look at BR page for that pitching staff.   

I was going to say if there was a weak link offensively to that 91 team it would be at 3rd base but a quick look says the platoon was solid.   The weak link was Gladden.

Al Worthington. Should be in the Twins Hall of Fame. Closer extraordinaire in the late 60s. Hated "cheating" when with the Giants, was a journeyman pitcher with no career prospects and became dynamite, often pitching multiple innings.

Alejandro Machado, the only Twin in the rosters section of the media guide that never played a game for them, but considered a major league player because he was a Rule 5 draftee kept on the roster on the 60-day DL in 2007. Ultimately the team he was drafted from didn't want him back and he played two years in the minors for the Twins. Chuck Schilling should also be remembered in a similar fashion. Brought over in spring training with Russ Nixon in the Dick Stigman trade, he broke camp with the Twins in 1966...back in those days you could have an extra player or two on the roster for the first month. Sam Mele never put him in a game during the month, and the Twins wanted to send him to the minors when the rosters were reduced and he quit.

Gene Larkin-Thought he would be great...well, he had a great moment

Mickey Hatcher-Fan favorite. No Glory, no rings, but unforgettable.

Steve Lombardozzi-Just listening to little kids trying to say his name made him a great memory.

Doug Mientkewietz-I still have to ask my middle child if I spelled it correctly and she always gets it right.

Mike Trombley.

 

Terrible player but I managed to turn him into an 24 game winner in Triple Play 99.

I did that with Joe Mays in MVP Baseball. Then grew to irrationally like Mays in real life because hey, he was a 20 game winner in the video game!
