Game Thread: Twins @ Padres 8-2 @ 2:40 PM CT

[Danchat]

This team is finding new ways to not score runs.

Awful base running. You have to be better when batting lead off.

[70charger]

It's certainly nowhere to be found in game threads.

And we largely appreciate that.

[diehardtwinsfan]

No, it doesn't.

clearly the old avatar was fitting.  How can one not like this face?

[TwinsCD]

Wow, they're letting the summer interns run the graphics at FS North today.  Duffey is looking awfully different than usual.

Blog title: Mike Misses Munchie Food

I think his new fad diet will actually win many over though.  He's either on something or onto something.

[Winston Smith]

That first inning really sums up modern day Twins baseball.

[Mill1634]

Santana missed his spot by about 3 feet and still struck him out.

[jimmer]

I have a really cute Maltese/Shih Tzu mix.  Cute little underbite,

At least they're evolving...

I can't quite make it out. Are the dogs sitting on it?

So not having the benefit of watching - Mauer did not score on the groundout to short but was later  thrown out on a wild pitch?   Was San Diego playing the infield in?  Not off to a good start.

[FunnyPenguin]

1 IP 0H 0R 0BB 2K, that is the Santana we want to see more of.  Here's to him not imploding today!

San Diego has a short backstop and the bounce was fortuitous for them.

[Mill1634]

Joe would have scored.

[Squirrel]

You ruined it Van!

The inside, inside joke was that she was finally embracing her true nature. Now that's over. Thanks a lot.

A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet.

[Squirrel]

I mean, what if it's a Frenchie?

They are cute and adorable ... but not more than a cat.

The ball was hit right to the shortstop, Joe didn't have a chance to go home. He got caught at home because he got a poor jump and he's just slow.

[Winston Smith]

Is Polanco turning into the new DanSan? Oh he got a hit never mind.

They're not pure evil though!

I'm starting to connect some dots...

[Vanimal46]

Is Polanco turning into the new DanSan?

That would be sad, really....

[Danchat]

A double for Polanco! Miracles DO happen!!

But of course Santana has to hit now... but he has hit a double with the bases loaded before.

[TwinsCD]

Who has money on a Castro backwards K here with runners in scoring position and 2 out?

[70charger]

That outfield play just saved the Padres a run. I have a bad feeling they're leaving another zero on the board here.

[Mill1634]

ERV needs to start DHing, eh?

[wsnydes]

At least they have one guy that can drive in a run every so often!

[70charger]

Oh. Um.

Never mind.

[TwinsCD]

Leave it to a pitcher to get a hit with the bases loaded!!

[SwainZag]

Erv!

[Cap'n Piranha]

Its a good thing that our pitchers hit better with RISP than our batters, right?
