Got off the golf course just in time before the skies opened and ready to settle in for some putrid afternoon baseball.  But I look at the lineup and I ask this question -- did Molitor put all the names in a hat and just have a random draft as to who bats where?  It's not like there's a bunch of rookies in the lineup that you're trying to find a spot...these are all players who have been on the roster all year.  You should have a decent idea where people should go and if not, how about starting to build toward something?  This lineup card looks like the work of a lost manager.

Hey everyone, I think we got this game today.  I just finished off my lunch, which was actually a chicken dinner.

That sounds like a jinx if I've ever heard one.

Both of the Padres radio announcers are decidedly fast talkers.  I'm going to need a nap by the time the game is over.  I'm sure that need is in no way related to the fried chicken.

Hey ChiTown--this is my favorite t-shirt ever.

Your new avatar scares me!

You ruined it Van!

The inside, inside joke was that she was finally embracing her true nature. Now that's over. Thanks a lot.

I'm sure this has been covered before, but it's not THAT Luis Perdomo.

I was really confused when Smalley called him a "good looking, up and coming pitcher."

Let's see how long it takes the FS North graphics people to figure out that Chacin isn't pitching today.

Wow.  That is tough.  My problem was/is portion size.  Once I reigned that in, I've had good luck keeping it off.  I can eat basically anything I want, but it has to be in moderation.

Where is moderation? I don't think I've ever been there.

BUNTING YOUR 2ND HITTER IN THE FIRST INNING IS THE STUPIDEST THING TO DO.

I just joined, did they really try to sacrifice in teh first inning? After I semi-defended Molitor for not bunting?

Yep. Mauer hits a leadoff double, and he bunts escobar to make the first out of the game.

Guy's an iron man. Starting two days in a row? What is this 1910?

I actually like the lineup.

Your best OBP guy up first.

Your hottest hitter 2nd.

I'd rather see Rosario and Kepler switched but I can live with it.

Sano hitting cleanup

Buxton out of the 8th spot so he can actually do something on the basepaths if he gets on base without the pitcher hitting directly behind him.

Polonco and Castro are interchangeable to me.

congrats.

I decided at lunch to change my habits. I'll be starting a blog to hold myself accountable, expecting zero others to read it. but I know I need something to keep me more accountable.

Somewhere between excess and malnutrition.

For a veteran, how in the world does Joe not have a bigger lead from 3rd base?

This team finds new & improved ways to take a 12-gauge to their spikes.
