Blake Verified Member Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 It's funny looking at the lineups for tonight side by side. Or sad, I guess. The Tigers have 3 guys with batting averages under .170. 4 more under .220. The best the Tigers have is Castellano's .242 and Cabrera's .226. Not surprisingly, Tigers have more HR (14) in their lineup than the Twins (10). But BOTH cleanup hitters are hitting in the low .200 range with 0 HR and 6 RBI. Someone call STATS, inc. When was the last time two teams playing each other had 0 HR from their # 4 hitter in the 3rd week of the season? Looking at the head to heads, I see no real advantage. No Twin with substantial AB vs Verlander has hit him. And only James McCann has done much against Santiago. Even Miggy has just 4 RBI in 25 career AB. I keep hoping the Twins bats will wake up but the Tigers bats are due to wake up also. That's baseball, though.

yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 i agree with the sad part. but 4 rbi in 25 ab projects to 96 rbi in 600 ab. Which would be considered a low total for Cabrera. It would be the lowest he's had in a full season in his career.
Blake Verified Member Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 I just looked up Cabrera and he's 34. Could age have caught up to Cabrera that quickly?

It would be the lowest he's had in a full season in his career. So the Tiger fans must feel a little like us with Mauer...Oh, sorry. Is that stat for one year? We've lived that experience what? 4+ years. Edited April 21, 2017 by twinssporto

Man thanks for all assistance. Kudos to Blake for bringing Shaun. That is where i'd have liked to go, albeit, i think as the intro song says, he's one of kind. RB might mark something off for that, so back to the drawring board... If i'd had this much help, i might have actually done some homework in college... Riverbrian 1
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 FWIW, I read on ESPN's MLB home page that this is the fifth anniversary of Phil Humber's perfect game with the White Sox. He had 20.2 innings in eight appearances for the Twins in 2008-09. No decisions then. Went 14-14 with Chicago. Then went totally south in Houston, going 0-8 with a 7-plus ERA in 2013. Out of baseball, as far as I know. Riverbrian 1
