Kwak Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Help me out please--when a starter stinks they say "move him to the 'pen", do they also say a relief pitcher stinks--"move him to the rotation"?
Blake Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I certainly hope Hughes had some sort of physical issue, because otherwise, Molitor has managed his way to a loss.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Big.Pelf.Avoids the loss. And good for him, he seems like a likable guy. Just not very talented. But he does have the shortest leash in the league.

A broken hand from punching things. Dick and Bert surmising that Phil asked out. Sure.
Pius Jefferson Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 May looks terrible but you can't overuse your bullpen like the Twins have done.
kydoty Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I would love to hear how Bert really feels about Hughes being taken out of the game.

Kwak Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Yes, but tonight is on Paul. Why? because he replaced the much-maligned Tonkin with the "ACE RP" May-- or because he removed the much-maligned starter Hughes?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Help me out please--when a starter stinks they say "move him to the 'pen", do they also say a relief pitcher stinks--"move him to the rotation"? May was arguably our best starter last summer, which was used as partial justification to move him into the pen so that Milone and Pelfrey could do their starting rotation thing. So yeah, it's time to move May back into the rotation.
hybridbear Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I'd like to really hear how Phil feels.I bet you wouldn't be able to hear much of that interview on tv because almost every word would have to b bleeped out.

David HK Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 We can argue about sending this rookie down, calling that rookie up, not playing this guy enough, playing that guy too much. But at the end of the day, even if every single other thing had gone better than hoped for, this team was never going to be able to compete with this bullpen. Never. And that's on Ryan.I concur, Dr. All that hot stove chatter last winter about the need to address the BP, guys out there available, and what does TR do, in his typical TR way? Sign one guy on the cheap (Abad, who's at least been a pleasant surprise), and that's about it.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Why? because he replaced the much-maligned Tonkin with the "ACE RP" May-- or because he removed the much-maligned starter? The much-maligned starter was doing fine. Sure, there were some bullets being hit, but once the bases emptied after the sac fly, he at least earned a chance to finish the 7th. Why bring in the stinky bullpen?
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Interesting. Just checking in, but only 8 pages of game thread in the 8th? Looks like apathy has set in. In May.
Blake Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Dick, completely dispirited. 38 games in, 124 left to go...Dick is going to be drinking heavily in the booth before the end of the season.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I would love to hear how Bert really feels about Hughes being taken out of the game.Yeah there's a whole page of game thread comments wondering why Hughes was being taken out. But first guessing doesn't change the L to a W, unfortunately.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 It will be very, very difficult to remain a Twins fan if Terry Ryan is still the GM of this team on November 1st. I'm not holding my breath.

Platoon Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Why? because he replaced the much-maligned Tonkin with the "ACE RP" May-- or because he removed the much-maligned starter Hughes? That seems to be an awful lot of maligning for one post.
pierre75275 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Wow....that went downhill quickly. I'm not a fan of molitor managing but it really doesn't seem to matter what string he pulls it always snaps.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Dick thinks this was our best game of the season before the meltdown? Jeeze I know it's bad, but up your standards! Two runs off pelf shouldn't be considered the "best" of anything.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I bet he just sits there and slugs juice boxes.Yeah, I don't get the impression Dick drinks. Bert, on the other hand...
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 That was supposed to say fire the manager. It actually works either way!
David HK Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 What a mess. If hey DFA Gulfa, who comes up? Boshers- not on the 40 man. Meyer- who's been raked over the coals by Molly's mismanagement- and stick him back in the BP, and totally jack with him? Chargois- who's on the 40, but is he ready to take a beating up in the Show? It's a cluster, allright. I had to edit this one, cuz just to increase my pain, I checked on reserve catcher John Hicks- he of the 1.016 OPS with the Erie Seawolves.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 If he indeed asked out, I apologize for denigrating Paul. I just don't believe that happened.
