While nobody enjoys using hindsight to unfairly malign a manager more than I do, my take when Hughes was pulled was that Molitor a) deserved credit for having the courage to pull a veteran starter after 75 or so pitches, and B) that he must have seen something he reeeally didn't like in order to even consider doing a).

OR c) he's just using a magic 8 ball.

Yeah I still have a few cases of those laying around, too

They were popular a bit before I started drinking, but I distinctly remember them being lame.

MAY was never the best starter last year!  I will repost May's stats from last year (starter -only!)

74.1 IP    39 R    38 ER    14 starts    8 quality starts    4.60 ERA

Every starter last year was better than May except Nolasco.

It's an unexpected honor to have you post here,   Mr. Antony,   even if it is under a pseudonym.

PS    You forgot his all-important won/loss record,  but you're a busy man, what with the front office demoting, optioning, DFAing, waiving, flogging, signing, promoting, and kidnapping players at a rate of roughly three per day on average,  so no worries.

Ach, Eddie.  Can't hit a 5-run homer there.

Easy task when the RP knows he doesn't have to throw a strike to get him out.

Well right now, they're about on pace for 40 wins. I would think that would bring change.

Yes but then we would be cheering in favor of the likely outcome each day. The more we suck the more we can imagine upper management sweating.

Hm.

Interesting how BP (bullpen) has the same initials as BP-  at least in the Twinks case.

I think anything over 100 loses might spur something. It's hard to imagine winning 52 more games.

Can Kelly pitch?

The way things are going, we might want to make the call and find out.

New management policy - no more abbreviating "bullpen" - our pitchers get too confused.

Ooh!  Russian feed went down, came back up, and now it's DickBert instead of Gibby and the Tigers--  And did I just hear Dick question the decision about Hughes?  Argh-  now it's ended.

Well, somebody in The Land of Sky-Blue Waters update me on what's said post-game, eh?

Would it be better to hope the Twins lose? We could hold out hope that if they lose enough it will bring change?

I don't think we have to hope for it, or cheer for it...at this point it's a pretty high statistical probability isn't it?

I know there is going to be a lot said, but I am not sure there is anything else one can say at this point!

My feed cut to an ISIS video, which was immensely more entertaining.

Then just f-ing stall until it rains or someone dies and they have to call the game. It's not that damn difficult.

It would be easier to do that if Pelfrey still pitched for us.

It's starting to look like maybe the 'Good team playing poorly' theory from the pro-Ryan camp has sprung a bit of a leak...

This year,  or over the next calendar year?   If they're lights out next April,  I could easily see 52 combined wins by May 17th 2017.

I can't believe I spent money to see the twins in Fenway this July. I should just open my window and throw the tickets out.

At least we are not the Braves! Man, those guys suck! (Unable to keep a straight face as I typed that)

Is it possible to fire the whole team and bring up the Triple A Club? Including the manager and coaches?

And their interim manager's name is snitker.

Ours will hopefully be named Chortle.

You're including next year in the win column, right?

When you think they'd have to win almost two full months of games...and it's almost June. YIKES

Duensing just opted out his KC contract and became a free agent

120 loss season really looks doable for this team. But the team is not really 120 loss bad.

There is something dreadfully wrong inside the team and organization.

I have tickets to see the Twins play the Angels when they are out here in the LA area. I may as well go. At this point, I would have to pay someone to take them off of my hands.

Well, considering what it might cost in the way of ballpark food and aggravation, might be worth it.

Couldn't blame you if you did,  but remember that Fenway is still a magnificent place to take in a ball game,  even if the Twins stink like really stinky men,   and also,  that due to the Butterfly effect,  those tickets you throw out the window could end up in the hands of Red Sox fans with a gift for heckling who end up making the Twins AAAA starter that day feel so bad that he collapses on the mound in a puddle of melted self-esteem,  causing Terry Ryan to react with the panic move of signing Kyle Lohse to finish the season in the rotation.

Totally up to you,  but you might consider taking one for the team and just going to the game.

Or else... Kyle Lohse.   Just sayin'.
