Watching him bat was like watching an otter play the French horn.

I have not heard that analogy before. Most otters play the oboe. :)

It's an unwritten rule that the Twins always need to have one guy like that in the rotation.   Before Pelfrey it was Scott Baker,  who made look Charlie Brown look more intimidating than Bob Gibson on a bad day.

His bunting was oboe quality.   Swinging away, he was as hopeless as the otter's notorious inability to master the brass embouchure:  darting eyes, hunted facial expression, flailing arms, and a stance that suggested that the air biscuit he planned to drop had unexpectedly escalated.

I think it was Kubel who hit a HR, otherwise Rivera would have been at 100% against our lads! (Or so it seemed)

Six innings of zeros is nothing to scoff at, and line drive contact hasn't been as hazardous to the fielders the last couple innings. You may now gloat. :)

Pitch to contact is good, as long as the contact referred to is ball contacting glove.
