Platoon Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Watching him bat was like watching an otter play the French horn. I have not heard that analogy before. Most otters play the oboe.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I just wish he was from Canada. He looks so soft, like a pansy. It's an unwritten rule that the Twins always need to have one guy like that in the rotation. Before Pelfrey it was Scott Baker, who made look Charlie Brown look more intimidating than Bob Gibson on a bad day.
David HK Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 There just ain't enough people out there named Burl anymore. By golly, if I have a little boy someday.....
DrNeau Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Oh my god. Mauer just pulled a home run to RF. Hardest ball he has pulled in two years right there.
Platoon Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Ok, recent Twins history demands that Hughes gives that run back immediately! Santana is ruling my theory as I type.
David HK Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 What is up with these boys throwing that leather around tonight? It almost looks like the good old days on D out there. Thanks, DanSan. Thanks, Polanco. Good scoop, Joe. Who's next?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I have not heard that analogy before. Most otters play the oboe. His bunting was oboe quality. Swinging away, he was as hopeless as the otter's notorious inability to master the brass embouchure: darting eyes, hunted facial expression, flailing arms, and a stance that suggested that the air biscuit he planned to drop had unexpectedly escalated.
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Any more Berrios - Hughes comparisons?
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Any more Berrios - Hughes comparisons? Are you watching the game? Hughes is getting rocked. All the line drives are landing in gloves.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Sano just hit a fly ball to right field. But then it kept going...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Any more Berrios - Hughes comparisons? I'll take ineffective Twins starters for 500, Alex. "This unclaimed waiver wire lefty starter's presence in the 2016 Twins opening day rotation caused some fans to worry about what to do with him when JO Berrios was called up."

"This unclaimed waiver wire lefty starter's presence in the 2016 Twins opening day rotation caused some fans to worry about what to do with him when JO Berrios was called up." I liked the $200 question: "He was good in the clubhouse, but not so good when it came to giving an inspirational speech to his alma mater Wichita State in a 2014 spring training prank set up by his teammate Glen Perkins and his manager Ron Gardenhire."
spinowner Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I think it was Kubel who hit a HR, otherwise Rivera would have been at 100% against our lads! (Or so it seemed)LIsten, guys, I've got a fever. And the only prescription is more Kubel!
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 After next year big Pelf will have made $31,000,000 over five years with the Twins and Tigers. To put things in perspective, Kelly Ripa earns $20,000,000 a year ... Oh my, America!
Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 To put things in perspective, Kelly Ripa earns $20,000,000 a year ... Oh my, America! Can Kelly pitch?
Blake Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Can Kelly pitch?I'm sure part of Ripa's job is pitching products or the next big thing her network is going to cover.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Any more Berrios - Hughes comparisons?Six innings of zeros is nothing to scoff at, and line drive contact hasn't been as hazardous to the fielders the last couple innings. You may now gloat.

operation mindcrime Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 We signed Robbie Grossman to a minor league deal tonight. Go Twins! \m/
Pardon My Dinger Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Just checking in. Geez, it's like a freakin' country bear jambaroo around here.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I'm just glad its Santana who keeps getting hurt in the outfield, and not Sano EDIT: obviously nobody wants anybody to get hurt yada yada
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 At the rate Pelfrey is pitching, I'm going to be able to finish "War and Peace."How many years have you been reading it?
David HK Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 We signed Robbie Grossman to a minor league deal tonight. Go Twins! \m/Hm. Down goes Rosario, then.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Does Molitor know how to run a bullpen? 75 pitches and Hughes is taken out? Seriously? No wonder why our 13 man staff is always exhausted.
