Stars of the night:

First Star: Sano- Game Winning PH HR. Enough said

Second Star: Boyer- 5 outs, two of them in insanely high pressure spots. Dude is looking like "good Boyer" again the last week. Hope he keeps it up.

Third star: Suzuki- can't throw out a guy to save his life, but he stood tall when Boyer hung him out to dry and broke up the no hitter/shut out with a bomb.

 

honorable mention:

pelf: 1 ER in 5.1 IP? Not great, but workable!

What about game 163? Which had about 5x as much drama as this game (not putting down this game at all!) or game 6/7 in 91 which each had like 20x the drama?

Maybe the comeback from 5 down in the ninth right before the AS game was better, but for my money this was maybe the best win of the year.

There are still question marks going forward, but I buried this team about 5 times already this season. Tonight was a legit playoff race win. We lose that game 9/10 times in the past. Bullpen was great. Excited for the future.

I got a little bored so sat on the 'puter in the other room, but when I heard Sano was coming up to bat I headed back to the tv.  Never know what he might do!
