Well I think a lot of people come to the game threads just to hear your sharp analysis of the game and your very occasional off-topic comment that reflects some very thoughtful observation or advice, and would be disappointed if you left.

 

I can do that in one post.

 

Baseball is a funny game. On the other hand... Clowns are at their most funny when they pull a 30 foot scarf out of their mouth and look surprised it's that long and still coming out. I'd advise all Clowns to do that in their act.

The thing is, over the course of a game, about 25-50 pitches (I'm guessing) are called strikes that aren't strikes and vice versa. Unless they go to a computerized umpiring system everyone has 20-20 hindsight and it must be tough to be an ump.

Agreed. It really was terrible. It's one thing to miss calls that catch the edge. But FoxTracks had the entire circle over the plate.

I used to dislike him a lot, but over the past few years I don't mind him as much, not having that jackass tim mcgarver next to him helps his case a lot.
