Escobar

Santana

Nunez

Boyer

Suzuki, Fien are on notice.

Sad part about Suzuki owed $6M next season with a 2017 $6M vesting option guaranteed with 485 plate appearances in 2016.

I bet people want to blame Bill Smith somehow....LOL

not gm who did the deal

Well Plouffe, Dozier and Sano were once SS so take your pick

I'd like to see Sano at short.  He's got quick feet for a guy his size

I'm not worried about Escobar yet. He just had a bad day. I think he'll rebound.

Boyer needs to go, and Fien will probably follow him. We need to find some bullpen arms to replace them.

I don't understand why Arcia is still in Rochester, while taking one rookie out of the lineup leaves Nunez to DH.

Boyer and Fien are 2 of the better bullpen options we have right now.  We need to find better options to limit their innings.

The problem with the Twins picking up a rent a reliever or stick or SS or catcher is that there are too many holes to fill with rent a players. There are two choices here. You can accept the fact that this is a nice, fairly decent team with lots of room to grow, or you can ruin its future by rolling the dice and trying to spot fill some positions for a playoff run this year. We have tried the 32 yr old declining vet route for several years now. I have seen enough of it.

Well, what do you want them to do? It isn't like the Twins have a left-handed power bat that has been on a tear the last 2 weeks just conveniently waiting at Rochester for a callup.

He's got to do things the Twins way, not the things that got him to where he is now. Opposite field singles, not 400 foot bombs. Twins way.

Yep. Arcia should have been on a plane the moment Sano was put on crutches.

I don't understand half the roster moves this season.

I was thinking more like weeks ago, but yeah...at least this.

I guess the Twins really believe that 25-30 plate appearances in AAA per week for Arcia is better than 15 a week for the Twins.

It's better for Rochester, that is.

Arcia was extremely hot then the last 10 days or so he has been not so hot.  I think he is striking out in about 40% of his AB's over that time.  I know it's a small sample size, but the timing of his slump corresponding with Sano's ankle weren't good for him.  That being said I would rather see him get at bats here than in Rochester to provide some pop.

I have no problem with the Twins riding Nunezes bat right now. He has an .800 ops and a 120 wRC+ and at DH his glove isn't an issue. If Sano goes on the dl then perhaps they need to reevaluate the idea but fir a few games.... Meh.

As for Arcia I thought he should have been up a while ago splitting time against righties in the OF helping keep a certain 40 year old fresh through the end of the season. There are enough at bats for him if Molitor wants to make it happen.

Nunez shouldn't be on the roster, let alone the DH. I am not a fan of the roster construction at all.

I'm actually okay with Nunez being the futility guy. I don't really like it but it doesn't make my stomach turn.

I would have swapped Santana for Arcia quite some time ago. Arcia can spot-start in left, DH some, and spell Hunter in RF on occasion.

It makes way too much sense and I cannot understand why it wasn't done a few weeks ago.

Speaking of Sano, anyone read the USA Today article about him? So refreshing to read about the Twins in a national publication, especially when it's not about the team being bad!

FWIW, Arcia is back to "not so hot" at Rochester. The stats don't scream "call me up". The Twins have an enormous LH power dearth, but Oswaldo hasn't hit consistently well enough to justify a recall.

Arcia belongs hitting behind Sano. They should call him up when Plouffe takes a day or three off to be with his wife. Arcia behind Sano against righties. Plouffe behind Sano against lefties. Simple as that...until Vargas gets back.

The lineup has been inconsistent all season. Sano makes a difference to be sure. But that's a hell of a lot of pressure on a rookie who wasn't even around for most of the first half when this team played its way in to contention.

Arcia was sent down for a reason. And he's been kept down for a reason. Look, im a lover and supporter of Arcia, have been and will be. Dude is NOT a bad egg. But young dude also needs to "get it" to some degree eventually. Pure athletic ability and power isn't enough. He doesn't have to be a hit/AVG or OB machine, but he can't just swing for the fences all the time.

Do people really hate Nunez? Or are they just upset that the roster isn't deep enough to keep him as a nice utility player? Since the Twins acquired him, all he's done is hit and play OK to "ish" defense at multiple positions. Isn't that what he is supposed to do? I'd bring him back for '16 at this point.

There is a lot to like here folks. This is a retooling club that is getting younger by the day. Lots of young players getting their feet wet while contributing to a winning ball club. Let go the angst and enjoy the ride.

Frankly, I don't really care about Arcia's MiLB numbers unless they're horrific. The kid has 850 MLB PAs of 100 OPS+ hitting. The Twins could use that right now.
