Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Isn't that something... Well, the Twins can very easily turn this lemon into lemonade if they so wish.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Yep. What an Idiot. Who do we bring up?Aaron Thompson.
Steve Lein Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Well... This is not awesome. I wanted Trevor May or Alex Meyer in the rotation, but not for Ervin...
Steve Lein Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Did they really recall Thompson?! God D*amnit...
teekz Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I'd like to amend my previous Twins prediction now. Last place, 90+ losses.
nytwinsfan Provisional Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 No chance this would enable the Twins to back out of the deal, would it? I mean, they don't know how long he's been using this, or if it is has improved his past performance or helped him avoid injuries. I know literally nothing about baseball contracts, but as a lawyer, in other areas something like this might enable you to get out of, or at least renegotiate the contract.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 You know ... I rarely say much about decisions because I'm not a decision maker, but this really, really sucks. Thompson??? Wtf Santana???
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Link? edit: Nevermind I'm an idiot http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/04/ervin-santana-suspended-80-games-for-ped-use.html
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Maybe Pelf was the one doing it and they suspended the wrong pitcher.
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 This is prob why Pelfrey changed his tune so quickly...odds are the twins knew about that's a while ago.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Aaron Thompson. LOL you can't make this stuff up
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I'd like to amend my previous Twins prediction now. Last place, 90+ losses. Yep, I withheld my prediction until we REALLY got to opening day. Having already been in the process of lowering my horizons WITH Santana... let me just say, anyone who took the 68 UNDER in Vegas is looking pretty good with his wager right about now....
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 We should ask Mark Prior to come back.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Thompson to the pen, Pelf to the rotation? Or Thompson to the rotation? Did Trevor May badly end a relationship with a member of TR's family? So many questions.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 If May isn't stretched out enough to get the spot over Milone, what made any of you think they would change their tune now?
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 We will sign Dustin McGowan fore sure.
FattCrapps Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 So who's projected to go #1 in the 2016 draft class?
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 We will sign Dustin McGowan fore sure. Is Terry Mulholland available? That guy is a gamer.
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 “This is unexpected news for me and my family. I am issuing this statement so the public knows where I stand. First, my deepest apologies to my family, fans, colleagues, teammates and my current employer the Minnesota Twins. I am very disappointed that I tested positive for a performance enhancing drug. I am frustrated that I can’t pinpoint how the substance in question entered my body. I would never knowingly take anything illegal to enhance my performance. What I can guarantee is I never knowingly took anything illegal to enhance my performance. That’s just not me, never has been and never will.” So Maybe Pelf did give it to him.
Yoshii Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Thompson to the pen, Pelf to the rotation? Or Thompson to the rotation? Did Trevor May badly end a relationship with a member of TR's family? So many questions.I think it will be Pelf in the rotation as the # 5 guy now, but no kidding. Couldn't have ****ed that one up more...
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 So who's projected to go #1 in the 2016 draft class?Ryan Boldt?
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 If May isn't stretched out enough to get the spot over Milone, what made any of you think they would change their tune now? Pelfrey is going to the rotation, so the Twins need a reliever. I think they might have one or two better than Thompson, no? Or at least more interesting.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 This is terrible. When the hell did the Twins know? Why bother giving him these last x number of starts? Also, Trevor May could pitch 5 innings.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Aaron Thompson? I need a drink.

Or at least more interesting. They couldn't, Aaron Thompson is the Twins most interesting reliever since Senor Smoke.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Holy cow. Despite my message board pessimism, I was actually looking forward to this season. This is quite the bombshell.
