While I still believe the Twins need a big bat for the heart of their order, I'm not trading Keaschall for a rental. 

I think the Twins already have two RH hitting first basemen in Miranda and Santana. Alonso is not enough of an upgrade to give up that package. Straight up for Kirilloff would be fair.

If the Twins are going to trade for a rental bat from the Mets, why not rent the best bat? JD Martinez has an OPS+ of 156 which is higher than any Twin except for Lewis.

Two top 100 prospects for a rental 1b/dh is hard to swallow. I'd pass on that specific deal, even if I do think Alonso would give this lineup something it doesn't have already. 

I'm not even a little bit concerned about losing Kirilloff at this point. I'm far more concerned about losing Festa and Keaschall.

I've give away Kirilloff for a good reliever at this point.

Bowman is crazy, very rarely do I agree with his trade ideas. For a rental I wouldn't trade any of them. Beyond that I don't think the owner would want to pay for his added salary besides paying for Santana's

Flat out NO! .  I would be reluctant to trade just one of Festa or Keaschall with Kiriloff to get a rental.   No way you trade both with Kiriloff.

Kirilloff for Alonso straight up is all I'd do - maybe even make NY take Sanchez to adjust payroll, if MN thinks Camargo can step in at backup C. Farmer and Santana might be the panic button emergency backups! (Sidebar, the Twins are overdue to draft a top catcher or two.)

Prospects like Festa and Keaschall only go for someone we really need, like an impact and hopefully controllable SP, not a struggling, expensive, 3-4 month rental first baseman. 

If the Mets paid the remainder of Alonso’s contract, I can see this trade if we didn’t already have Miranda and Santana playing a solid 1B.  But isn’t LF and backup C where our lineup has the most issues right now?

well, let's calm down a little on Keaschall: he's having a fine season and looks like a legit prospect, but he's not a global top 100 prospect. 

but under no circumstances are the Twins trading Festa in a package for a rental bat. This is a deal that looks awesome for the Mets and crap for the Twins, which is a classic Jim Bowden special. Dumbass ideas like this is why he's not in anyone's front office now and likely never will work in baseball again.
