I generally like the site. My only technical complaint is that when scrolling the ads throw you to a different part of the page which is annoying. To really improve the site would require better writing. Less hyperbole and click bait articles and more in depth articles. I would rather have fewer more in depth articles than higher quantity of surface level writing.

I agree, the site managers could use more discretion in terms of which articles get published. (We didn't need thirty-nine "Walner Strikes Out Too Much" articles.) Also, I'm probably the only person bothered by this, but it's sloppy not to have photo captions -- this is Journalism 101.

As a retired Californian who grew up in Twins territory, I very much enjoy the comaraderie and humorous responses. I am a bit curious. Have you ever posted statistics as to the number of people that connect to Twins Daily?

Faster breaking news. Better coverage of the minor leagues. Pros & Cons of being a small market team. Could high A Cedar Rapids move to Fargo, ND?

I like that idea about the Minor Leagues, since I spend most of my time at CHS Field. What type of coverage are you asking? Like stats, a breakdown of certain players?

That would be nearly impossible unless Twins Daily is inspecting DMs… I’ve met a few dozen TD people in real life over the years!

Unfortunately there have been a few accounts frozen in time over 12 MLB seasons posting here.

Example?

I enjoy reading every morning, and check in during the day. All the ads are horrendous, worst of any of my daily reading. Impossible to use on my phone without accidentally getting transported to somewhere else by touching an ad.

I can't directly comment on the ads on this site, since I have a subscription, but they seem to be a point of frustration.

Part of me is like "Well yeah, if you don't want to pay for content/access you should expect some ads," but that's too flippant of an analysis.

So, two thoughts:

1) I agree, on other websites, when I'm scrolling and ads and maximizing and minimizing and is messes with the scrolling or where you are at on the page, that's super annoying. I'm not paying, so I understand there will be ads, but it sucks when they really take away from the experience. So, improving that, seems like would be appreciated by the non-subscribers

2) Maybe the caretaker structure (pricing/features) needs some revamping. I was going to suggest a "Bronze" level support that only achieves removal of the ads. But then I was looking at the subscription levels and... Do Silver caretakers still have ads? It looks like that. I'll be honest, that feels kind of greedy. These people are doing what you want (spending money for better access) and it seems like for $60 a year, they shouldn't have ads.

Expect serious rethinking of caretaking. I'm advocating for a price reduction and a single tier that removes ads. I think it will ultimately happen, but with some caveats, I'm sure.

When we developed the caretakers program, what we have now made sense. Staffing difficulties, changes in website operation, and other factors make that less so now.

I'm not sure the difference between "Notes, Tidbits & Rumors" and "News." They are pretty much the same to me.

This is something we're working on changing. Notes & rumors aren't news, nor do we want them to be. How we treat them is very different (short, little analysis, and in the case of rumors, sometimes less reliable sources), and their purpose is quite different (rumors in particular are primarily there to encourage discussion).

But expect significant changes in this regard. The two sections will remain separate from a technical perspective, but it's likely they will merge in some capacity visually.

I've gotten used to the current ad system, so I hope that doesn't change much. I understand that they pay for this site. Just don't go to ads that are impossible to close or mute.

Keep the banner that appears during games for quickly joining the game thread. The game thread is easily the best part of TD for me.

Stickied links to the latest game results article and minor league recap article at the top of the page would be great as well.

You don't need to worry about that happening, if anything we'll slightly reduce the number of ads. In fact, we almost certainly will, though it may not be all that noticeable. One of my goals with the redesign is to reduce browser load, and one of the easiest ways to do that is dropping an ad per page load.

Maybe more community events! As well would also love to see more profile customization and features/ammenaties for caretakers.

Thanks Brock. TD is a daily view for me here in North Carolina. It has been a gift to this 73 year Twins/Senators' fan, (I'm 81 . I became a Senators' fan when I was 8 because I had been born in Washington and my grandparents lived there). After my grandparents moved to North Carolina when I was 12,  I used to read my grandfather's Washington Post sports sections, which he would save for me and the "local"  Charlotte Observer (Charlotte was a long time Senator's/Twins minor league affiliate), Baseball Digest and the Sporting News for my Senators/Twins information.  Now I don't feel alone in my support of the Twins. For years and years here in North Carolina, I felt I was the only Senators/Twins fan in North Carolina.  Because of TD, I am now an integral part of a knowledgeable community of Twins fans.  Thank you.

WWAY Tv on social media is getting all the love for Jenkins today.

Single tier for that is fine, but there do exist a few members who believe in the mission and are willing to "help out" the site at a slightly higher price point.  Maybe there aren't enough of those people - and TD will never be a charity on a par with curing cancer or feeding the hungry - so there's a limit to what the second tier ought to be, so maybe one tier is right.

How about a North Carolina Chapter of TD, especially with the 4 North Carolina players on the current Twins.

I think that is wise. I’m not trying to be an obnoxious but, for me, the quality of the writing doesn’t merit significant payment. If there was a tier that was more “donation” level I would do that just to have access to the user posts and comments.

Brock seems mostly to be looking at the revamp of the look and feel.  wRiTiNg qUaLiTy is a bugaboo for me too - but realistically the old model of newspapers is gone, and here we're getting a game recap within hours of last pitch, plus at least a couple of opinion pieces each and every day, and essentially for free.  Sid Hartman's columns used to draw eyerolls too, but we still bought the paper.  I choose to count the blessings.

This is the framework we use if you want a very basic idea of what the forums will look like. We modify quite a bit, but these are the bones underneath.

https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/

This is way down the list of priorities, but I've been making use of the Ignored Users feature and have a couple of tweaks to request. 1) When I click the "Unread Content" icon near the top of the page, I would just as soon not see any threads listed where the only unread posts are on my Ignored list. 2) When adding someone, it would be nice to have a short text field I can fill in to remind myself months later why I put them on Ignore (rudeness, idiocy, lack of proofreading, etc).

I do like that the present version of the feature allows individual posts to be overridden in case I am curious.

I just wish that other posters wouldn't respond to those posters, so I don't wind up seeing the posts anyway and get reminded why they're on Ignore in the first place.  Life is short, and has been better since I embraced the feature. 😄

That first part is so true.
