  1. Nightengale needs to call his son for an update on the status of the bullpen. Seems Bobby Sr. hasn't check in on the Twins for months. This article reads like it was from early June. The Varland trade flat out won the game for us on Puckett jersey night. In my eyes, the bullpen hasn't "lost" us a game in close to two months. Some of us have moved on from the fire sale... And it was fun to hear Ken Rosenthal just kinda shrug this morning on Foul Territory after the Minter trade, downplaying the likelihood of a Jeffers trade: Well, the Twins are buyers.
  2. haha they were brutal, offense especially. And have we got confirmation that Caglianone's homer landed yet? Great to see the bullpen do its job once again, though, kept us within an ultimate grand slam (never heard that term before yesterday).
  3. I was at work and watched the game on replay last night. All I knew about the game was a "King Kody" text from my brother. I figured that meant we won but needless to say, by the ninth, it was difficult to imagine a Twins W. I did the math in my head in the ninth and then realized, holy sh*t, is my man Kody (should've been an All-Star!) about to do the thing?!
  4. This is a fun thread to revisit the morning after. Dan Hayes called the 9th inning one of the most improbable moments he's seen in 20 years covering MLB.
  5. Yeah, JB's walk might've saved the season*. Dude was locked in -- 2 of those balls were very close to being strikes. *I write that knowing full well there have been at least 25 moments since the Cardinals series that have "saved the season."
  6. KC continues to outplay us. Sound like a broken record, but breaking news: Badly need a W today heading into a 9-game road trip. HELP!
  7. A rare burst of anger from Larnach slamming his helmet. The "vibes" did seem off across the board...
  8. Not much talk in the broadcast booth these days about how fun and goofy Joe is when's on the mound.
  9. PS - seeing reports ol' friend Tristan Gray left the Saints game early. Hmm, roster move incoming? Buck gonna heal up for a September playoff push?
  10. Nah, no way, now's no time for nostalgia, gang. He's a cool story, but light this dude up from the jump and don't let up. ... Meanwhile, all eyes on Joe Ryan and how he responds from last week's disaster. I'll be at the Mankato MoonDogs game - think I'll take a selfie by the Ryan Kreidler sign for some good juju. Hope to watch a Twins win on replay!
  11. Will be curious if to see if the Royals rest Vinnie tonight. Dang, he hit a long foul ball last night.
  12. 100%. I went back and watched the replay like 20 times. "THAT BALL'S OFF THE WALL...THE TWINS ARE GONNA WIN THE GAME! CARATINI SCORES! LEE SCORES! THE TWINS RALLY AND WALK OFF THE ROYALS!" That's the good stuff. Inject this into my veins! Cory's been been waiting for over a year to make a call like that. He didn't get to call the Keaschall walk-off last August against the Royals (was on Roku, and Ryan Lefebrve was ripped for showing no emotion whatsoever), and the Rockies walk-off was one more of relief than joy.
  13. Indeed. Pure joy. Provus nailed the call, too. "TWINS WIN! TWINS WIN!" Big difference from the player's-only booth call on Roden's walk-off from a couple weeks ago.
  14. Forget the ERA: It can't be repeated enough, after hearing months and months of "If we still had Jax, Varland and Duran, we'd have XX more wins," how clutch this bullpen has been lately. They've won us three games in the last week alone. Amazing! Seriously, good on them. Props to Hawk, too. I honestly don't know who I'd want sent down/cut at this point if we traded for someone. I'd be a little cautious about messing with the chemistry right now.
  15. I heard Kody Clemens' dad say on Sunday Night Baseball a few weeks back that his rule of thumb was any ball in the air for three seconds needs to be caught. The ball last night definitely seemed to meet that standard.
  16. This hardcore Dylan fan approves of this message. Great piece! Let’s roll 👊🏼
  17. Feel slightly vindicated that I didn’t get tickets to The Black Crowes concert tonight to instead watch my Twins 🤣…was second guessing the decision all game.
  18. In the running for most frustrating/annoying game of the season.
  19. Not that I think they'll be overconfident, but can't overlook the Royals. Don't get complacent. That home series against them back in early June really set us back and might be one we'll regret we slip away come September. Should've won 3 of 4 that weekend. 3 really tough losses - including that awful misplay by Kreidler/Keaschall before the rain delay in the Thursday game (top 3 most infuriating moments of the season), the last time our bullpen lost a game in the 9th on Saturday (after Arcia's clutch homer in the 8th), and a near epic comeback that fell just short in the Sunday finale. Win Twins!
  20. Big Shelty fan. He's seizing his opportunity for sure. I chuckled when Josh Bell said on the Foul Territory podcast yesterday that if Shelty makes an in-game move that backfires, "he has no problem going down into the tunnel and blowing up, just like we do as players, and I think it's so awesome to see that."
  21. haha!.. My wife, who adores Pablo, was annoyed because Provus thought we were "honoring" Bert Blyleven. Which was not the intention. Also, it's weird to see yourself on TV "live" from a clip that took place the night before. I was watching myself like the DiCaprio gif:
  22. That's the whole bit though. We all know he isn't Bobby Witt Jr. Just a fun guy to root for and his presence has unquestionably improved the team imo. And, really, Kreidler's play on Saturday from my view behind the Twins' dugout was beautiful to watch.
  23. Cody's editors as he hits the publish button. J/k - just funny timing after yesterday:)
