  1. Shoot, I’m behind on the game. Chiming in that Austin cost himself an RBI there.
  2. The Shelty post-game presser was painful. Still searching for guys in the pen to step up 85 games into season. “It’s challenging.” Gonna try and keep it postive. Today is a new day. Get a win and keep our head above water on the road trip.
  3. All roads lead back to King Kreidler! So happy for him. And I honestly couldn’t care less about the bullpen implosion. Whatever it took to finally get a walk off, I’m here for it.
  4. I don’t know if I would’ve slept tonight had we lost. Thank you, baseball gods! 🙏🏼
  5. Borrego's has had a rough year at third imo, Should've sent the runner the other day against the Astros, but shouldn't have sent Austin Martin the other night. Always easy to second guess though...As Perkins mentioned on the broadcast, we caught a bad break on how the Gray double went down the line last night.
  6. I hear ya. They're playing hard. I'm just bummed we didn't find a way to win one of these close games, and we have no margin for error right now to celebrate moral victories. Would've been great for the team and fans to finally get a walk off. It was right there for the taking last night. Such is life as a Twins (and Minnesota sports) fan. 🤐
  7. Sure, I get it. A Buck walk off would've been a lot cooler though;) I dunno, just seems like the mentality of a team that was just satisfied to be competing against the best team in baseball. Let Mookie get his 300th this weekend against the Padres. Every run was going to matter last night.
  8. I wonder what Joe Ryan thinks about Brooks saying "that's pretty cool" when Mookie blasted his 300th. lmao. We're trying to win a game here, Youngblood!
  9. Buck's RISP struggles are clearly in his head at this point. He already admitted to Dan Hayes that he thinks about it "all the time." I'll be glad to be wrong, but I fear this series, and especially this game, will be looked upon as a turning point of sorts in the season, kinda like last year's series against LA (even if that was a month later in the season) when we lost that heartbreaker in the rubber match. Obviously, the Mick Abel news from yesterday is crushing, too.
  10. Just got DFA'd this a.m.. Rojas sent down, Kody and Raya called up. And around and around we go...
  11. And if Joe was too ill to pitch, I dunno, he shouldn’t have been at the ballpark last night?
  12. Is my math right here? Since our 10-run (!) explosion in the 5th inning last Saturday, we’ve scored a combined 8 runs across 31 innings, with 3 solo homers. 🤦🏼‍♂️
  13. MLB isn't for the sentimental, but I'll still feel bad for the kid if he gets sent down before getting his first hit. He's gotten so close a couple times!
  14. Good game. Dang, what's it gonna take to get a walk-off win again though? I think our last one was Keaschall's opposite field shot off the Royals last August. I know technically we didn't have the winning run up to plate last night, but it seems like we've had at least a dozen opportunities so far this season. ....Also, wasn't Larnach's bomb off Lauer earlier this season in Toronto enough to keep him in the lineup all game long?
  15. This lineup actually did this once already - in that blowout win against the Red Sox back in April, when they scored 4 in the first and 7 in the second. Wonder if any Twins lineup across 65 years has batted around twice in two games in one season - both times in consecutive innings. Crazy! Fun fact: King Ryan Kreidler started both games;)
  16. Did Buck get his first hit this season with a RISP with two outs on that infield single (that didn't score a run)? 🤣 The broadcasters didn't mention that Brooks broke his consecutive at-bats without a strikeout streak..And struck out again the next time. Funny game.
  17. I’m glad you mentioned Jackson’s contributions. By and large, he and Vic have filled in admirably - to say the least - in Jeffers’ absence on both sides. Another great team win. Oh, and Kreidler is crushing it! Starting to come together, Pepper. Happy flight home, fellas✌
  18. I'm kinda over the 'what if?' game at this point (though reserve the right to go back on that haha) with this team. Shelty's Grinders have played competitive baseball for all but a handful of games. Some close games worked out in our favor, a lot haven't. Wasn't always the bullpen's fault - many games could've been won with just one more play by the defense and/or a timely hit. Such is baseball. But, hey, we're almost to the halfway mark and still in this. People wrote this team off in January, March, by the first week of the season, and every few days after that - and continue to dismiss them. I get it: This team ain't a modern masterpiece by any stretch, and surely there's some heartache to come, but a lineup that's capable of 20 hits + a 10-run inning? I'm on board with that. In Kreidler we trust.
  19. Team Kreidler for the win! Liked him ever since I saw him play in Mankato for the MoonDogs. I just like the way he goes about his business…Cory Provus mentioned earlier in the season that Kreidler was none too pleased at starting the season in Triple A, and told Shelty as such. Now, he’s earned a place as the everyday SS. Love to see it.
  20. The bottom line: No one knows anything right now. Raise your hand if you thought last Friday morning, coming off a pretty bad week and heading into a series against a good Cardinals team and 3 games on the road against a decent Rangers club, that a week later this 31-39 team would now be 36-40 and riding a four-game winning streak (the longest active win streak in MLB, for what that's worth). I mean, not even Peter would've predicted that...
