  1. Meant to ask - was that Josh Bell's family the camera panned to after his home run? I don't think it was mentioned on the broadcast. Just thought they seemed more excited than a typical group of Twins fan watching in Houston would be. Pretty cool if his parents were in the crowd for that dinger.
  2. Here's another truth (imo): Kody Clemens has lowkey been the team MVP over the past 2 months
  3. Yet despite all their perceived weakness, how are the Twins still hanging in there? How do they have a better record than the Blue Jays right now? Or the Tigers...or the Red Sox? The RISP numbers are probably a huge factor. No way will the average stay around .300 (we're starting to see it drop over the past week).
  4. Geez. You'd think we'd have won 25 games by reading this article. "The Twins offense actually hasn't been all that bad?" Huh? Remember when we batted like .180 last year with the bases loaded? Now that was bad! "All the negativity in this town SUCKS."
  5. The bit about Banda's injury and how popular he's become in the clubhouse bummed me out. Seemed to me like to me he wasn't too thrilled to be here after being with the back to back champs (couldn't blame him!), but sure appears now that Banda's made the most of his time with the Twins.
  6. Pretty cool to see a quote from a vet like Josh Bell, who's obviously been around the league awhile, saying in the Athletic today that this team is the tightest one he's been on. I'll take him at his word.
  7. We believe! Look, it's been a very entertaining season so far - from games in the fog & snow (seems like forever ago) to some seriously dramatic wins & tough losses. Frustrating & demoralizing at times, yes, of course. They've gotten very little respect so far from podcasters, bloggers, beat writers, etc., but no one can say this year's Twins doesn't have heart. I'm with this team till the wheels off. And will stick around even after that 🤣 Like Aaron Boone said the other night, "You've got to love this stuff. You've got to eat this stuff up. It's a sickness. That's what the grind is."
  8. 10/10. Big Dog knows ball! Travis Adams was a luck merchant last night. Until the gopher ball, that is.
  9. Unknown yet. They'll announce a timeline after the surgery. Probably won't see him back this year though, is my guess.
  10. The bullpen has obviously been playing with fire, but by my math, I think we've only one lost one game this month (knock on wood!!) when leading after 7 innings (the Saturday game against KC). Says more about our offense than anything (and the bullpen kept us out of some close games too), of course, but still, most teams not named the Dodgers would be satisfied with that. Win or lose tonight, we had a winning June.
  11. Two final points: 1) Sneaky good flip by Kody at the end! He might’ve beat that out otherwise. 2) I hope Vic doesn’t have a concussion. He looked woozy.
  12. Goes into the column as a W. That’s literally all I care about at this point. That said, of our 41 wins, I think I can count on one hand the number of games where I wasn’t sweating the final couple innings.
  13. My big takeaway is our record in one-run games is quickly improving!
  14. I remember back during that magical run in the second half of 2006, we won a series in Houston, including a game against Kody Clemens’ dad. Let’s do it again!
  15. Also, a bit surprised there haven't been any roster moves yet today? Figured Banda would've been sent to the IL by now...
  16. Indeed. Over the past five weeks, I honestly can't remember the last time I thought, Dang, we're really missing Jeffers. Vic & Jackson have been a great duo. Some tough calls to make when Jeffers is ready to come back.
  17. It felt gratifying to hear Ken Rosenthal acknowledge the Twins as legitimate WC contenders on his podcast this morning, ahead of the Blue Jays. He floated the idea of Sonny Gray coming back. ha!
  18. No worries. The Church of Kreigler is open to all. No judgment. We're all seeing the light in real time. Welcome, Brothers and Sisters!
  19. Connor is also becoming my favorite post-game interview, because he's so awkward and short with his answers you can tell it throws the beat writers off. Every answer is like "Um, yeah, like I said, I just tried to be consistent in the strike zone."
  20. Louis Varland lost it in the 9th today for the Blue Jays. Just saying 🤷🏼‍♂️ Silver linings: Bullpen did its job today for the Twins, and in the two one-run losses against LA.
  21. We currently have a better record than the defending AL champs. Meanwhile, Detroit and its bullpen had a terrible series against Houston. Fan bases across MLB - save for a handful of clubs - are pissed off at their teams, for various reasons... Point is - all and all, after 85 games, could be a lot worse for Shelty and co.! “Hunt the good” indeed.
  22. Shelty just said they don’t think it’s an arm injury, for what that’s worth. His side, maybe?
  23. Great read by Martin! Banda’s injury looked bad. But so did Joe’s.
