Ugh, with the playoff ground (and momentum) we would’ve gained with a huge comeback win, when you factor in all the late squandered opportunities, that actually might’ve been the worst loss of the season.
Since Aug. 1, I can think of just a single game (final game in KC) when the bats scored a game-winning run in the sixth inning or later. They’ve gone cold (or, to be fair, been unlucky too) at the most critical moments, time and time again. In this homestand alone, we’re just one more clutch hit in the late innings from going 5-1 or even 6-0. Going 3-3 doesn’t cut it. Of course, last night, we didn’t even need a hit. Just a ball in play.
Frustrating.
