  1. The bottom line: No one knows anything right now. Raise your hand if you thought last Friday morning, coming off a pretty bad week and heading into a series against a good Cardinals team and 3 games on the road against a decent Rangers club, that a week later this 31-39 team would now be 36-40 and riding a four-game winning streak (the longest active win streak in MLB, for what that's worth). I mean, not even Peter would've predicted that...
  2. I wonder if media members like Patrick Reusse still think this is the "most uninteresting" Twins team they've ever covered. I know we're a ways away from seriously contending, and the picture could look different this time next week (just like it did this time last week), but it's time to put some respect on their names! These guys are playing some really good baseball right now, period. I, for one, am entertained. PS what a blast from my man Ryan Kreidler! I think he's pretty close to getting the starting slot at SS over Gray (who's struggling at the plate right now), even against righties.
  3. I don't recall any DFA discussions around him in April, but I'll take your word for it. He has 30 home runs in just over a year now with the Twins. And that's not even getting to how important he's been in the field.
  4. Perhaps, but let's see how the next couple weeks ago. Dude is raking it right now.
  5. Kody Clutch Clemens is meriting some serious All-Star consideration. Just five nights ago, this team was on the brink of falling to 31-40 after another bullpen implosion. Great turnaround!
  6. Does Gray have any options left? I thought he did but could be wrong.
  7. Jen's had her struggles for sure. She's missed several check swing calls too on us. There was one recently when I saw Austin Martin get as angry as I've ever seen him...I'll say this: her correct strike 3 call on Duran to end the game a couple weeks back with the bases loaded saved the game for us. We were out of challenges.
  8. The pride of the Mankato MoonDogs: My guy Ryan Kreidler! Also, what a scoop by Royce. Most intriguing 33-40 team in Twins history! As Shelty would say, these guys grind.
  9. Hard to remember- and horseshoes and hand grenades - but Lawrence was a strike away from a 1-2-3 inning. …You can’t hit a ball much harder than Jordan Walker did. Dang it, if we get out of that inning just down 2, I think we come back to win that game.
  10. Gutsy win. Great to see the guys picking each other up. This would’ve been another demoralizing loss. So happy for Royce! Bullpen is a total mess though 🤦🏼‍♂️Morris was shockingly efficient indeed.
  11. Screw it, I'm predicting a vibe shift & a series win against the red-hot Cardinals! Who's with me? Peter?
  12. Would his thumb injury from late last year (same as Emmanuel Rodriguez, I think) typically have any lingering effects? Haven't heard it mentioned at all.
  13. I'll take the W...but dang, always interesting in the 9th with this collection. Glad I decided to watch the Knicks comeback instead of sweating through the end of this one. Buck's homer was a thing of beauty...he knew it was gone.
  14. Another infuriating loss on all fronts. I'm sensing a pattern here! Taj looked out of sorts from literally the first pitch. Not buying the humidity excuse at all... The Buxton 0-22 with RISP and 2 outs stat this season is mindblowing. Didn't Wallner set the record last season for fewest RBIs (40) with at least 20 homers? Buck currently has 19 homers and...29 RBI. 65% of all his RBIs this season are from HRs. He's gotta be on pace for the fewest RBIs with 40+ homers. Can't make it up.
  15. Credit where it's due - Vic Caratani stepped up and had a great week. I think he batted close to .400? Jackson had a couple of great plays on Friday, too.
  16. Brooks’ swing sure looked/sounded good off the bat, like Arcia’s near homer against the Pirates. I thought we had an improbable walk-off…Alas, the baseball gods have not shined down upon us lately.
  17. I remember Cory Provus describing Josh Bell on Opening Day, saying he doesn't strike out much. Um, yeah....I'm rooting for this dude (like I am all the others!) and thought he was fitting in well to start the season. But since the Boston series in April at TF, dang...rough. Definitely been a huge disappointment.
  18. Beyond the 5-10 record in one run games, how many games have we lost with either a lead/tie game going into the 8th? Thinking of late losses against TB, Cincy, Seattle, etc. I know we’ve pulled out some Ws that easily could’ve been losses, but we coulda (shoulda woulda) have like 40 wins right now. At least 35. So it goes…
