What's the worse that could happen?

They could slide back a few picks in the upcoming draft if they win too many games.

Someone asked on another thread if I thought there would be a 40 man crunch in the off season, given all the guys that could go.....well, at some point they need to add 7 relief pitchers (or SP) to the 40 man to actually field a team next year, so, yes, I think trading for a bunch of guys that need to be on the 40 man was one of several mistakes.

There are 18 players on the 40-man who would be really easy to cut (I counted). They have about 7 guys who need to be added to avoid Rule 5.

I could get behind every move until Jax and Varland.

It will be interesting to see who is in the field behind Ryan tonight.

Who the hell is coming out of the BP?

I give Sands first opportunity to take a shot at closing.

I doubt there will be a crunch, but they have maybe 15 guys on the roster that should be next year. As you add MLB players, you're going to take spaces. I'm likely just still spicy from yesterday.

Imagine you are Jeffers, Lee, Lewis, larnach and Wallner and now that the team was gutted, you are left with 2 months of this mess. Has to suck for those guys as well as the fans trying to support them and the rest of the team.  They have to be pissed off

They played anywhere near their potential the team would not have been gutted. If they're pissed they need to look in the mirror.

Sucking is working in a tavern kitchen with slippery floors and no AC.

That might be the best description I read all day.

Is it a service time thing where keeping him in AAA means they get his age 32 season? Otherwise, I agree, it makes no sense to trade Brock Stewart for someone you think is worse than Dashawn Keirsey.

I didn't know that the front office could find a new way to go dumpster diving  ...

I'm still trying to sort it out  , the new roster is pretty much just our AAA players and a few waiver claims ...

Yankees released stroman ...

i want to see them put the 16 year old they traded for in the MLB lineup!

Are there labor laws against that type of thing?😀

Honestly, I do want to thank the TD online community for sharing our ideas and responses together during yesterday's bloodletting. Knowing others felt the same (or cared equally  much) as we watched the trades unfold was therapeutic. Thanks for all being there (here).

C'mon now. Outman is no prize but he's a lot better than DeShawn Keirsey. No reason to insult the guy.

Clemens is a very good writer.  The whole thing is worth a read, but that's one hell of a closing paragaph:

"Who cares? What’s the point? The social contract between teams and fans – we’ll sell a little bit today because we want to be more entertaining tomorrow – feels broken when the club offloads everything, everywhere, all at once. That’s especially true for the Twins, who were expected to contend for a playoff spot this season. Instead, they tore it all down, and getting rid of Correa was the fatal blow. Was it a good trade from a business perspective? It’s surely neither all that good, nor all that bad. But the better question is, who cares if it’s good or bad when the message it sends is objectively terrible? You don’t execute this kind of sell-off if you’re planning to turn around and compete next year. I grimaced as the deals kept flowing in, and I’m morbidly curious to watch the atmosphere at Twins games the rest of the way. We haven’t seen a complete capitulation like this in a long time."

Pohlads never signed that contract. They don’t care.

Well, Kiersey is in Minnesota, and outman is not.....

I don't get that at all. Outman has actually had success against MLB pitching, albeit in 550 PAs in 2023. Keirsey, not so much . . .

Going to be different with new additions!!! Thought corea/most if not all would’ve stayed. I’m in shock!!! 😮

Peter to me that was the best thing about the Prima Donna that he goin back to astros, -- loved him as a Player  but that man had zero interest in the Twins future,  Best Memory of C.C WAS HIM AND SONNY GRAY picking off toronto player in Playoffs

Well said. I was 6 in ‘61 at my first game at Metropolitan Stadium. Hard to wrap my head around the last 24 plus hours.

Glad we have this community to commiserate……
