I have no idea why we are scared to option Topa… he’s not good. I have no idea what they see in Wentz. He stinks.

Wentz ,

They see a player that is better than our pipeline ( that doesn't say much about our pipeline , they seem to like washed up veterans )  , if Preilipp was healthy he should be pitching as a lefty out of the bullpen

Let's get real here Keirsey had nothing to do with them getting no hit by a rookie. This team is lifeless and can't get out of their own way. Even Ryan couldn't get out of inning after inning without throwing 7,8,9 pitches per hitter. Now even the BP is getting burned out because the SP is in trouble in the 3rd or 4th inning. Buxton and Lee are the only ones doing anything.

You nailed it doc , Milwaukee knows what to do in the game of baseball for a small market team  ...

I agree totally that we will continue to see the same baseball from falvey and company because all they emphasize is hit the ball hard ( swing hardi is more like it ) ...

I would rather the batter strikes out swinging than looking , it irritates me badly and I think they should start fining the players for striking out looking , if it's close you swing to protect the plate , control what you can control ...

How's the weather in Brazil  , we are suppose to be a 100 or near that by game time ???

Here where I live, the low of around 60 degree & high around 80. Not bad for winter, yet my wife still complains that's it's too cold. I sure won't complain.

Hell,  I run the air conditioning in the van when it 45 degrees outside and we're heading south facing the sun , my dog and I love it ...

Buy the wife something fleeced , that will help , maybe wool , she'll itch but won't complain about being cold ....

When I head south to Texas for the winter they are wearing coats at 65 degrees and I'm wearing t-shirts  , they make fun of the Minnesota man and I give it right back to them , I tell them I'm not a snowbird  , I'm a frostback and I like it cooler ...

That was just plain ugly.  UGLY!

But loved watching the Brewers.  Solid D, fast, most batters working deep counts wearing down Ryan, and exciting on the bases.  Loved that style of play back when the Twins were the Pirana's.  Didn't realize how much I missed it until seeing these past several games.

Wentz needs to be let go. We have Adams who has been one of the few successful AAA pitchers we have this year. Call him up and give him innings in the pen. It's past time to start seeing this so called pitching pipeline. Offensively, Keirsey and Bride need to go. They are clearly not a part of the Twins' long term plans, so why not give some of our prospects a shot? I'd like to see Eeles take Brides place, at least until Keaschal is back. In the OF, Keirsey could be replaced by Mccusker. It's too bad Martin is still hurt, he was doing well.is there any timeline for his return?

Has there ever been a more clear example of two mid-market teams competing with different strategies and different levels of execution?

This whole post was just perfectly stated. It's sad to see the Twins continue to lag in development, coaching and execution, with no meaningful changes to their approach.

Way to go Milwaukee  , you pitched a hell of a game and hit like the boy wonder , you played the game the way you should play , with pitching and defense , timely hitting , running and fundamentally sound baseball ...

You beat a team that you should beat , WELL DESERVED ...

way to go Minnesota  , when you play bad baseball with poor everything , YOU DESERVE TO LOSE ...

You lost to a better team ...

I've said this a million times , we will not win with this manager that has them playing like a bunch of possums  , PLAY DEAD AT HOME AND GET KILLED ON THE ROAD ...

THE MINNESOTA POSSUMS ...

But your the only team I root for even when I'm thousands of miles away , let's play some exciting baseball ...

Nice that Lee extended his hitting streak and the Ryan experience pitchìng 5 innings of decent ball but that is about all I can say that is positive  , wallners homerun breaking up the no hitter but his 3 strikeouts some looking irritates the ĥell out of me ...

Top of 7, Twins down 3-0 and the Brewers have men on first and third with one out. What does Baldelli do? He pulls the infield in. Next thing you know a double play ball was hit to third but because the infield was in Lee couldn't get to the ball. Should have been a DP and out of the inning but no- next thing you know Milwaukee puts up 5 runs in the inning instead of ZERO! Baldelli needs to go- Baldelli has to go!

Team B looked like the exact opposite: poorly constructed (for their chosen style of baseball), poorly managed and poorly coached. A team that basically eschews doing all those critical little things - either because the players are unable, are not coached to do them, they are not emphasised, or, likely, a combination of those reasons.

These little things don't show up on spreadsheets; this FO and manager don't care about them. I'll bet on the spreadsheet we're 10 games above .500 this season.

Feels like the rug gets pulled out from under my feet every time I get excited about things.... 13 wins in a row... Now this cruel theatre. There are a couple of guys having decent years...  it almost feels like they deserve to be traded to reward them for their effort... But I don't want to see them win for another team... That would be another guy punch.

Been a Twins fan my whole life and will always be one.... Can still remember listening to game 6 of the 1991 WS on the radio because our power was out. Love watching baseball... Probably partially because my high school didn't have a team and I would have liked to have that chance. Ended up playing some small college basketball instead.

I hope the organization gets it figured out. Maybe they will catch lightning in a bottle one year... It's hard to compete with markets like NY and LA.

Why is Keirsey wearing a TC uniform?  What value does he add?

Because last season SO many here babbled - Bring Keirsey Jr. up - well, he is here.

AT that, Baldelli looked and sounded very annoyed with the team after the game last night.

I have subscribed to the famous quote "Abandon all hope ye who enter Twins fanhood" this season and I find myself being able to take the teams play in much better fashion.   I can enjoy and appreciate when I see other teams playing better fundamental baseball.   If we do well - hey I am happily surprised!    Instead of viewing the whole - enjoying our individual performances - Buxton's hitting and health (so far) - Bader's defense - Clemens hot start with us  - Lee's hitting streak and defense -  pitching performances by Ryan, Duran and Stewart.    That's all I got after watching the opponent get 15+ runs on us again.

Kyle Gibson, had a great AAA time with TB. He just became a FA. He's ready to pitch MLB now. Twins should jump all over him right now. He'd be a great veteran clubhouse presence,  an inning-eater, cheap & Twins desperately need him.

I saw that yesterday in trade rumors and thought the same thing  , no real gambling on a minimum paid player with some veteran experience that is a back of the rotation starter  , he's not as washed up like happ , shoemaker,  Bailey  and others were ...

An affront to the game of baseball played at a professional level. Truly gross. Even Milwaukee played their part with the positional pitcher in the 9th. Gross.

Meanwhile, you can assign blame anyway you like…I’m talking in general, not just this game…Rocco is 1000% part of the problem.

In the past twenty years, 4  Position Players have pitched in and won 4 games.

Manfred ball is a far bigger stain on baseballs reputation, as would be computer umpires.

The season is likely lost. Play the young guys. I get not everyone will agree. I'm ok with that.

Good point, I took what you said under consideration. But IMO, right now we have Ryan, Ober, Paddack, SWR, & Festa with no long relief. IMO, we don't have anyone in AAA ready to be called up any time soon. Our rotation is spread very thin. Lopez is out (I thought he'd be the last to be affected), Matthews is on the IL already, Festa had a fatigue arm already, Ober & especially Paddack's (arm history) velos are down, SWR arm is young and Ryan had problems last season. IMO, the best thing is not to overextend & put too much pressure on our young guys so they don't end up on the IL & or not pitch enough quality innings. Gibson can be the best thing for our young arms, besides eating innings & also be that extra veteran presence & mentor. One of the biggest reasons we won't make it to the postseason is by ignoring failing starting pitching from the beginning. If our young arms don't land on the IL & not peter out, they'll pitch more.
