  1. Where are all the experts on Twins Daily who said Lewis and Lee are total busts who can’t hit and can’t play a position? Just asking.
  2. Just another trade for an average to mediocre pitcher and giving up way too much in prospects. As long as the current Twins management team, including Shelton, is in control put your head between your legs and kiss any future World Series goodbye. Let’s trade top 100 prospects for broken down washed up veterans when we could just as well bring up youngsters who will do no worse and yet get some big league experience. No way in hell we are going to the World Series this year but what the hell - let’s trade great prospects for has beens simply to perhaps make the playoffs! I can’t wait for those of you that disagree to share your opinions.
  3. Stupid, absolutely stupid manager! Bottom of 9, 1 out and men on 2nd and 3rd. 1st base open. Does Shelton walk the bases loaded to force an out at any base? Hell no! Does Shelton walk the bases loaded to create a potential inning ending double play? Hell no! Instead he leaves 1st open, and pulls the infield in to prevent the bunt which is ok. However, if a bunt is fielded cleanly, without the bases loaded there is no force out at home making a perfect throw to the plate necessary. With the bases loaded the bunt isn’t as much of a weapon. Had the bases been loaded and the batter has two strikes lowering the chance of a bunt you could pull the infield back and try for a force out at home or a dp. Way more options with the sacks full. Just really stupid to leave 1st open.
  4. If the CBA gets approved for the 2027 season with a minimum payroll of $171 million the $8 m for Larnach won’t matter. The Twins will need to spend $60 million more than they are this year.
  5. Why would you trade Larnach? He’s only 29 and is now just coming into his prime years. It has taken a few years to find his groove but he seems to have found it. He hit .259 in 2024 and .250 in 2025 which aren’t horrible numbers. This year he leads the Twins with a .284 average. Not too shabby. In addition he won’t become a free agent until 2028. Contrary to the belief of many I don’t believe the Twins have an abundance of major league ready outfielders. Yes, some are ok defensively but how many can perform at the plate. I don’t believe Larnach will bring a top notch veteran pitcher in a trade. Call me stupid but to trade Larnach for a pitcher on the downside of his career doesn’t make sense to me. We will need Larnach’s bat more than a mediocre/ average pitcher if we want to make a run at the playoffs.
  6. “ most teams don’t run a six man rotation for a reason: they don’t have 6 good enough starters” Even if a team had 6 good starters, or 7, or maybe even 8 I would never want a 6, 7, or 8 man rotation. Way too much time between starts. They would need not 1 but perhaps 2 or 3 bullpen sessions between starts to remain halfway sharp. They would still be throwing a ton of pitches in order to accomplish this thus diminishing any so call advantage of extra rest between starts. In addition, the mental impact of that much time between starts would be questionable. Sorry but I just can’t get behind a 6 man rotation. Spoken as a former Division 1-college pitcher.
  7. So the Twins allegedly have one of the top 5 minor league farm systems in baseball and we are going to trade one of the best catchers in the league for even more prospects when we desperately need major league pitching? I don't get it.
  8. Sorry but I am sick and tired of trade Ryan, trade Jeffers, trade Buxton , trade Lee, trade Lewis! For what! Lee has improved at 3rd and is playing pretty well there. The same with Lewis at 1st. Let these kids settle in and let’s see what happens in the next year . Let the youngsters play and develop, keep Jeffers, Larnach and Buxton to lead and teach the youngsters. Good grief, Buxton and Larnach were mediocre at best their first 3-4 years in the bigs. Currently, have the most runs scored in the league. Our pitching is lacking. Bring up the youngster pitchers in the minors for the last half of the season to get them experience. Good grief - we aren’t gonna win the World Series this year anyway. So you trade away your hitting for pitching and now you need hitting. Absolutely stupid!
  9. I absolutely loved the broadcasts! The stories and good-natured ribbing was fun to hear. There was also a lot of insight as to what they thought the pitcher would throw, the batters thought process, base stealing, hit and run etc... As for not knowing what was going on in the game all you had to do was watch your television screen. Baseball isn't that difficult to understand.
  10. Oh my he has a - 4 OAA. And just how many of those OAA’s have scored or led to more runs being scored. Twins Daily is embedded with nothing but negative writers who expect every damn player to be perfect. Larnach is a decent outfielder with a good bat. Too bad this writer could not name any specific game(s) where Larnach’s defense cost us a win. Oh, by the way, Buxton’s speed and arm strength is down, Lee shouldn’t be at third base because his throws are only 87 mph where they need to be 88.8 mph, Ober’s velocity has dropped 4 mph, Keaschall isn’t hitting home runs, etc.etc.etc. Enough is enough! Since when has any team played an All Star at every position in even one game.
  11. Rebuild? You can't be serious! The Twins got almost NOTHING in their fire sale of top relief pitchers last year. What makes anybody think trading their best players this year will be any different. In order to rebuild you need a foundation. You don't trade two or three of your best players. You build around them. Especially when you don't have a clue how to make a decent trade.
  12. The run LA scored in the first inning never should have scored. Yes, Edman hit the ball hard but Keaschall should have made the play. He only needed two steps to his right to get to the ball but then he let the ball play him. At a minimum he should have knocked the ball down and kept it in the infield. Had he played it properly it would have been out #3.
  13. Here is a unique idea- how about you let the catcher call the pitches from behind the plate instead of the manager from the dugout. The catcher has a much better idea of the pitcher's stuff during the game than the manager. Case in point - last night after Ryan gave up 3 runs in 1 2/3 innings his headpiece quit working. At that point Caratini started calling pitches. Ryan pitched a scoreless 4 1/3 innings after that. I realize it's just a small sample size but with all the problems we are having with our bullpen perhaps it's time to put all the over analysis on pitch selection from the bench on hold and let the catcher call the game.
  14. I disagree about turning him into a utility player. Put him at one position, play him there every day, let him learn it and get comfortable at it. It will help sharpen his focus at the plate as well as allowing him to become a much better defensive player. I would play him at first base.
  15. Has it occurred to anybody that pitching coach Pete Maki might be part of the problem? Just asking.
  16. Just like Baldelli we seem to have another manager who has no clue whatsoever how to manage a pitching staff. Seven pitchers last night - seven. There was no need to use 7 pitchers.
  17. Gee- just a month and a half ago the majority of the posters and writers on this web page said Lee was a bust. No defense, no offense. Send him down, 😂
  18. Good grief! His bat speed has increased but is still too slow, he extends his right arm too quick, he rotate a hair too early, his contact point is too far back, he’s not hitting for power, blah, blah, blah. How about this - his strikeout rate is 18%. That means he is putting the ball in play. I don’t care if he ever hits a home run. Singles and doubles would be just fine. If his batting average is .270 or higher and he drives in 80 or more runs who gives a damn. All this emphasis on hitting home runs is ridiculous. It is and has been detrimental to many players.
  19. I agree with you on the set up or closer role. I felt that the article was way too fixated on perceived flaws hence my sarcastic response.
  20. After reading this article I am left wondering how he ever made it to the majors. With all the “flaws” he has it doesn’t sound like there is any hope whatsoever for him to be a good pitcher. - no horizontal movement on his fastball -can’t get to the bottom of the zone - easy for batters to spot his breaking ball unexceptional carry on his fastball -low strike out rate - change up thrown at different arm angle and arm speed - uses a circle change grip There is no hope for this guy! 😂😂😂
  21. Omg- what will we ever do about Ober. Velocity is way down. Get rid of him. He’s washed up. His OBP, WHIP, LGBTQ, XXMP, FRPG, BS, and numerous other stats are horrible!
