Unbelievable! Just when I though this organization couldn't get any more stupid, they trade Varland, Jax, Columbe, Stewart and Duran. Top it off with Castro. Falvey is a complete incompetent idiot! I understand France, Bader and Correa but I don't understand how in the hell you trade 5 pitchers out of your bullpen.

To hell with the purse strings argument. Last year three AL teams with lower payrolls made the playoffs. The problem isn’t with money, it is with Baldelli and his damn analytics. The absolute worst manager in all of baseball. Name one, just one, rookie who he has developed into a decent player in his 8 years. He overthinks everything. He has ZERO baseball sense. He doesn’t do anything to give confidence to his young players. It’s not the money, it’s the piece of junk we have as a manager. I can’t wait to see how these new prospects pan out. Guarantee they will never be good under Baldelli.

My issue is the lack of consistency from day to day, not just with the batting order but position play.

Hey Rocco- how’s that “opener”stuff working out for you? What are we, about at a .100 winning percentage using it. Keep up the great analytics!

Only 154 different lineups last year. Same old stuff this year. No wonder this team lacks defense and fire power. No consistency provided by the manager whatsoever.

I don't disagree at all with your take on Falvey and his baseball philosophy. I still can’t believe Baldelli is the guy. For example- last year he used 154 different starting lineups with the same line up being used in back to back games 6 times. Yes, there were injuries but my issue is that the inconsistency Baldelli creates doesnt help the players. That’s on Baldelli and not Falvey. I hope the new ownership cleans house.

They aren’t winning with them because of exactly what you stated - they haven’t developed a position player worth a darn. What makes you think trading these pitchers for prospects will turn out any different? Perhaps it is time to look at the lack of development of our young players and question why they aren’t panning out. I say it’s on Baldelli and the coaching staff. I would love to see if the results with these young position players would be better if we had a different manager before I would trade away three excellent pitchers.

Ok all you gung- ho let’s trade Duran, Jax and Ryan fans. Who the hell are you going to replace them with? We have been in dire need of pitching, have finally got three bonafide major leaguers performing very well and under control for 2-3 more years and we are now going to get rid of them for prospects! Duh!

Have fun trying to sign any free agent starting pitchers this off-season! SWR throws 5 innings of shutout baseball, only 2 hits and just 64 pitches and he gets pulled. This isn't the first time this has happened to him. This has happened to each of our starting pitchers as well. What a slap in the face! It's understandable why Sonny Gray couldn't stand Baldelli.

As a former starting college pitcher I believe the opener strategy is absolutely stupid. A starting pitcher has a mental and physical routine that he goes through before every start. Using an opener disrupts that routine, especially if it is a home game. It makes it difficult to prepare physically when you are either sitting in the dugout for an inning after warming up or you are in the bullpen and trying to determine just when you will enter the game. All the naysayers will say that he is a professional and should be prepared no matter what the situation. I totally disagree. Having consistency in your preparation is important. In my opinion the opener strategy puts a starting pitcher at a disadvantage. Proof? The results speak for themselves.

Brewers 17, Twins 6: Evisceration
Maybe Next Year replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Top of 7, Twins down 3-0 and the Brewers have men on first and third with one out. What does Baldelli do? He pulls the infield in. Next thing you know a double play ball was hit to third but because the infield was in Lee couldn't get to the ball. Should have been a DP and out of the inning but no- next thing you know Milwaukee puts up 5 runs in the inning instead of ZERO! Baldelli needs to go- Baldelli has to go!- 51 replies

Please, please, please get rid of Baldelli! He has no clue how to develop young players, he has no clue how to manage a pitching staff and he has ZERO baseball sense. All he has is his damn computer spewing out analytics.

Your Mets had a payroll of $333 million. Most of your players were seasoned veterans. You are comparing apples to oranges. Younger players are still trying to find themselves and consistency is an important part of their development.

In 2024 Baldelli used 154 different lineups and had the same batting order just two games in a row (only 11 times). Yes, there were injuries. But not to the extend you would need to have a different lineup on the field 154 games. This season it has been no different. A new lineup most every day. There is ZERO consistency from day to day. Pretty hard for younger players to develop from a defensive and a hitting perspective when they only play every other day at best. Baldelli overthinks everything. His platooning mentality, handling of the pitching staff and lack of any confidence is his young players is the root cause of the ballclubs struggles. He has to go and it can't be soon enough.

Oh my. The data says this, the data says that. Data, data, data. How about some baseball sense! Ober is breezing through 6 innings and only thrown 73 pitches. His fastball was 2 MPH slower than the start of the game. Whoop-dee-doo. His off-speed stuff was still working great. He would be facing the bottom of the order. Your bullpen arms are warmed up in case he runs into trouble. You leave him in the damn game.

This is the Worst Version of José Miranda
Maybe Next Year replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How about we quit talking about the players and talk about the manager. Our manager is so smart he calls every pitch from the dugout based on his analytics. To heck with the catcher that knows what is and isn’t working for the pitcher that particular day. I pretty much know this comment won’t be allowed. Time to get a manager who has baseball sense and doesn’t rely on his computer to manage a team.- 24 replies
