Things look a lot rosier after a solid win in a game started by the team's #5 starter. If the Twins are to avoid being buried, they need to win the Mets series. It looks like it will be cooler and windier tonight. Might keep the ball in the park.

Not this game specifically related; wasn't Royce supposed to run the bases Tuesday-Thursday last week and then be assessed for how close he could be to starting a rehab assignment?

Has there been ANY news on Royce for how last week went? I want to assume that no news is positive in this sense, but haven't seen anything otherwise.

Twins win, 1-0!!

Or Mets win, 1-0 on an unearned run...

It will never be worse than the White Sox 0-1 loss to the Guards in the bottom of the ninth last week.

Will it?

That sucks for us. But we can’t expect these guys that have been doing well to be unclaimed forever. McCaughan pitched well for the Saints yesterday.

To me, that makes me think we'll be seeing more Randy Dobnak as the season goes on, in the #8 bullpen spot.  Like it or not.

The winds are gusting big time. And if I calculate correctly from my man cave, they’ll be blowing straight out to center,,,maybe more right-center. Not exactly ideal for Ryan.

On the other hand, once the sun (such that it is) sets, we’ll have mid-to-high 20’s windchills…maybe stay a little higher if the wind settles any…and it’s damp. So, hitters aren’t necessarily going to be comfortable, either.

Baseball wasn’t meant to be played in this. It makes me want to discount just about any results, honestly…individual and team, and good or bad.

Here’s to getting lucky.

I would like to see Chris Paddack in the #8 bullpen spot, with Matthews and/or Festa in the rotation in his place. I'm hoping that by keeping Festa up to make another start or two that the Twins are going to use the remainder of Lopez' time on the IL as a competition of sorts between Festa, Paddack, and SWR for the fourth and fifth rotation spots. Loser goes to AAA or the bullpen, depending on who loses. I even would be in favor of going to a six man rotation and giving Matthews that same opportunity now.

To be fair, we had no room for him. We simply have too many amazing bullpen arms ahead of him.

I mean, we only have 3 blown saves.

Sure, we’ve only had 3 save opportunities. But if we’re perfect over the next dozen or so opportunities (as expected), that’s pretty good!

It’s an embarrassment of riches over here in the TC. 1.8 era with us, didn’t need him. Let’s get dobber another go
