IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted August 14, 2024 Posted August 14, 2024 By the way, the White Sox were mathematically eliminated from the divisional race last night. If they win out, they get to 71 wins. Cleveland had 70 wins going into today, the Twins 66 and Kansas City 65, but they play enough games amongst themselves that at least one of them has get to 72 or more, even if all three teams lose all their other games. They’ve been eliminated from the wild card for a while, since so many teams are at least close to 72 wins already and they all play each other. ashbury, Fatbat, Twins_Fan_in_NJ and 1 other 1 3

They're just lucky. That's all. If you say it often enough it may be true. How lucky can a team be? I mean how lucky can Farmer be to get his 1st homer in Aug.
