It was no different last year either. He was dominant to lefties as usual and gave up a combined 1.000 ops in the regular season and playoffs to righties. He’s a LOOGY in an era where that is against the rules

This is true and why I think they need to limit him or...

The 1 run and 2 hits should be more informative.  Ober and Sands did fine.  Thielbar is a junkballer who should get lit up if the hitter keys on just the slow stuff.  Stanton must have read his scouting report.

Oh they didn't do horribly except that last HR.. just the usage flow chart says it all

The dark cloud NYY has placed over this organization over the last 20 something years needs to be documented. Unbelievable.

It should be studied by sports psychologists. If the twins played an entire season as poorly as they have against NY since ‘02, they’d be among the top 3 worst teams of all time

Then I guess I'm missing it.  What's it say?

LOL It can’t only go down, right???

And with that final out by Kepler, Royce's HR means his OPS actually went up, to 4.000.

What goes up, must come.... possibly further up.

Incredible that the twins booth can see exactly what’s up with Correa today and the twins coaches who get paid to see these things don’t 😅

Really wouldn't matter who was pitching when the offense mustered up a whole 1 run on 2 hits.

Folks like to say that, but I believe in shutouts, even if it takes more than one pitcher. One run is all that is needed. Just have to sync the pitching with the hitting. Simple.

Obviously shutouts exist, but in general, 1 run is rarely enough to win a ballgame.

Margot, Farmer, and Vazquez locked into the lineup then. I love our chances.

No worse than today.

Vazquez had the only other hit.

A pretty good game actually.

I like Kepler in the outfield but he really should catch that ball by Torres. He was there and seemed to misread the height of the ball. A 12 inch vertical and it is an out. The announcers noted that it was a home run in .... only Yankee Stadium.

Luis Gil threw the ball well. I did think the Twins could have taken a few more pitches, especially Vazquez with Castro on first base.

Thielbar committed a cardinal sin. You cannot throw an 0-2 pitch in the strike zone to a big swinger. Oh well.

I thought Ober looked really tough. That double by Judge was a fluke and landed on the line.

The odds of shutting out the Yankees right now are not real high so the bats need to produce.

Oh boy, did Royce give some major ammunition to those who have anointed him the savior. Keep it up RL.

Either the pitchers are a bit awed by Lewis with his two walks, or the other Twins are swinging at crap and watching balls down the middle go by.

I believe that there isn't a real good book on Lewis at this point and until he has played a few games pitchers are experimenting with him at the plate.

The minor league pitchers were getting him out with breaking balls in the zone, in a small sample.

Give Royce credit for staying off the breaking balls and sitting fastballs. That doesn't always work but tonight it did.

I think if Jeffers was going to pinch hit, it's not going to be for Vasquez so he doesn't have to catch tonight.

Why TF not?

I usually go to one of the games in the Bronx. But I'm stuck in Cleveland this week for work. The two teams I hate the most. Yankees and Guardians. There's no escape for me right now. I did proudly wear a Correa T-shirt on the flight to Ohio, so there's that.

As for the Yankees, being from NJ and surrounded by Yankee fans - family, friends, neighbors, coworkers - I have scars that run deep. I just presume the Twins will lose to this team.
