Ober missed his location by a mile—granted should still be called a strike @TwinsCD @mnfireman Correct. At the MLB level, if a catcher sets up where Vazquez was, you're expecting the pitch there. But I feel like you still need to see the whole picture. Speaking from my experience at the HS level, just because the catcher sets up there, doesn't mean the pitch will be anywhere near there (as I hope not to flinch because of all that exposed space). Plus, isn’t the inside edge the easiest to see? (Yeah the pitch went right to the flinch area) h2oface and gil4 2

The only grace I'd give on that is if the batter is hanging out over the edge of the plate and the catcher is set up inside and then the umpire has a very small sliver to see the pitch clearly. Yet with the top of the lineup coming up there’s nowhere for him to pinch hit. Jeffers sitting after the off day is just an incredible thing. OvertheHill Verified Member Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 It seems like we’ve given up an inordinate amount of 0-2 homers this year.
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Nelson keeps writing about how good the bullpen is. It's his fault.

He was dominant to lefties as usual and gave up a combined 1.000 ops in the regular season and playoffs to righties. He’s a LOOGY in an era where that is against the rules Hosken Bombo Disco 1
