Winston Smith Verified Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Really hurts baseball to have so many teams making no effort to field a competitive team.

Go Twins You might be right on that one. I guess it's easier to make an example out of a rookie vs let's say Farmer last night.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Kopech looked like he wanted to retire right there on the mound. I feel for guys like that regardless of who they play for Squirrel and gil4 2
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 16, 2023 Posted September 16, 2023 Kopech with a temper tantrum in the dugout. I suppose he is a little frustrated, especially with getting drilled by a Castro line drive.

How many really made no effort? I count 5 - Nats, Rockies, Pirates, KC, A's. The White Sox tried - they just failed spectacularly. A couple of teams cut their losses at the deadline when they were out of it, but other sports have far more teams with no hope. (NBA anyone?) wabene and Jocko87 2

At this moment Kansas City is three outs from beating Houston, that takes some effort.
