It's possible he gets up again but not certain.   I like MAT in center and Farmer at 2nd a lot more than I like Castro-Julien in he same positions.  With a 2 run lead I don't mind the decision.

How ‘bout where you gotta score to win?

Jax' first homer allowed this year, dagnabit!

He hit the aitch-e-double-toothpicks out of that consarned ball.

You don't take him out in case Jax gives up his first HR of the year and first run in 2 months?  C'mon now.

You don’t take him out because the opponent still has 3 innings of offensive opportunity. Dumb. Totally different with one inning to play.

Did that foul off of Julien's ankle play any role in the decision to pinch run?

That's what I said, thought it hit his knee though

The knee bone's connected to the leg bone.  The leg bone's connected to the ankle bone.  So I basically had it right.

It certainly could have played a role. You pull him for defense anyway. The right move doesn't always work out.

Three innings.

The middle of the 7th.  2 innings of hitting left if your pitchers get the job done.

2 innings is not a lot of game left.

Not for a team struggling to score, but it always is for a team struggling to get above .500. So that actually applies to both teams tonight. The sentiment is that Taylor coming to the plate in a key situation will not be favorable. I'm not going to second guess Baldelli for that decision, but I can see a possible objection.

Definitely a surgically precise enough comment good sir!

Putting in Jax there was fine, but I agree with the rest saying that pulling Julien was a bad move. And it's not like Julien is slow, his sprint speed is not shabby. That spot is likely to come up again.
