Varland comes off the field shaking his head as if to wonder what is going on with 53 pitches through five innings against Houston. He is really developing an idea of how to manage the strike zone that is incredible and fun to watch.

Varland looked great in Anaheim.  It was a pleasure watching him mow down Trout.

Julien hasn’t done much since that base running showing a paucity of acumen that helped blow a game. (Sorry about going to the thesaurus there, but last time I guess I used too much of the common vernacular and got slapped down and cut off.)
