Just a reminder: game threads are not a dumping ground for drive by name calling and/or over-the-top negativity.

And we took em out in the Playoffs also,   Moneyball team!!

I was in 10th grade. I thought winning playoff games would be easy forever lol

From a pure entertainment standpoint you’re never out of a game with a great offense. This iteration of Minnesota Twins baseball, 4 runs is too much to overcome.

I don't really find it entertaining to sit and wait for the inevitable death by crap pitching though.  Good pitching will keep you in games too.

It's a pick your poison scenario, obviously.  Pretty good talker.

I heard the other day about the Twins having a mandatory batting practice.  I thought most teams have BP on a reg basis.

I kind of prefer the strong starting pitching, but then I really don’t enjoy being blanked by a guy with an ERA north of SEVEN

Obviously both would be great but beggars can’t be choosers with a mid market team. We are sorely missing Arraez as the table setter at leadoff.

His bat is sorely missed although few Twins fans wanna admit that.

Listening on the radio Gladden thinks he did it on purpose to counter the opener, which I kinda believe even though it blows my mind.  Provus says hes asked Rocco about it multiple times it Rocco says he does what he thinks is best of the inning, to score runs.  But he can't be bothered to try a bunt in extra innings?  I'm flabbergasted right now.

I'm usually Rocco positive but this is insane.  Is he admitting hes not planning ahead?  Did he think they were going to bat around on the opener?  I can't even piece together a rational counter argument.

He's not turning this team into a legitimate offense.  I liked him, but his presence isn't the fix-all some want to make it

He definitely did it on purpose to get the righty matchup.

Last I checked, bunting doesn't magically score you runs. You have to actually be able to knock guys in with hits with runners in scoring position, you can't bunt every run in.

It would turn some of the solo home runs into two run homers and considering how many close games they've lost, it could be the difference in turning a one run loss into a one run win.

I was watching MLB tonight and the stat that blew me away was that Oriole relief pitchers had 42 holds. This has been the Twins biggest problem to me. Tonight Pagan comes in down 4-0 so his job is to keep it right there and he starts by walking his 1st 2 batters. I hope he can get out unscathed.

Sure but he's only coming up 4 times a game.  Someone still has to drive him in.

Thanks! 👍

You would think a manager that is willing to pinch hit for his cleanup hitter in the 2nd inning would be willing to try a little something crazy to get a run in in any other inning?

It’s brilliant really. Marginally improve the lineup for 3+ innings, and cripple it for 5 innings. Don’t know why more managers don’t go this rout when faced with an opener.
