Forecast (fr. weather.com)  is for drizzle all morning, then cloudy and windy. Not a nice day, but certainly not a game to cancel when making it up would be difficult.

With this season's schedule only intradivision opponents visit twice, meaning all makeup games will be difficult.

Guards are playing early (on Peacock) leading 1-0 in the fifth. They had a nice comeback win vs. the Angels last night, scoring 6 in the eighth to win.

The weather is supposed to improve as the day goes on. Hopefully, the sun comes out and starts to warm things up. I want to see a quality start from Louie and have him keep the ball in the park. Maybe we can carry over some of that offense from yesterday and help him out. Happy Mother's Day and go Twins!

Numbers finally in for Gallo's moon shot yesterday.  422 seems short but at 145 ft high it must have made a crater when it landed.  I just want to know what it takes to get a 1.000 xBa if that was .850.

Excited to see Varland pitch today -- I don't think he has quite the profile of a Ryan or even an Ober who I think can be and have shown that they can be Pablo Lopez to potentially even Sonny Gray level pitchers -- but I do think he has good enough stuff to be a major league level pitcher. In some ways, his pure stuff looks better than those guys but it seems like there's something missing where he's more hittable, it's probably command/control.

Me too, I was not aware he had 98.5 in the tank.  That's pretty exciting.

Louie looked pretty good in his last outing. The one before he left too many off-speed pitches over the plate. He's got plenty of fastball, but the off-speed stuff needs to be sharp.

Jog my memory... Was Stroman the pitcher the Mets were trading a number of years ago, and we were upset because we thought we had (or would have, had they talked us) offered a better deal than they ended up taking?

I was working on a remodeling project yesterday. Knocked a hole in the wall and discovered that there was a secret room, fully furnished and everything. Then Mrs. IT reminded me we live in a duplex.

Call me a curmudgeon, but I really don't care how far Gallo or any other slugger hit the ball. I think that was some of the love for Miguel Sano and a bunch of other power hitters. The art of hitting a 360 foot homer is a lot more important to me than the ability to hit the ball almost 500 feet.

Good first inning for the Twins. It looks like the wind might be holding up balls in the air. That's probably not good for a club that relies so heavily on the home run.
