I remember Mudcat Grant during the Twins' '65 WS run. Al worthington was really one of the first exclusive relief pitchers.

Mid 80's 9th inning, Twins leading. Opponent makes first out of the inning. Rooney: There's the all important first out of the inning. Harmon, do you argee that the first out is the most important out of the inning? Harmon: no, I think the third out is the most important out of the inning. Rooney: then why do they say the first out is the most important out of the inning? Harmon: I have no idea. I lost lots of games with one out in the ninth inning. Followed by a long dead air silence. You could tell they did not get along.
