IIRC, a rookie gets a full year of service time if he finishes in the top three in the ROY voting. That would be a real bonus for Miranda since he hasn't been up all year.

Nobody knows what happened yet. All we know is his velocity was down.

Well this is the most Twins thing to happen since... Chris Paddack. Mahle hurt already? Yikes... hope it isn't serious. Also, Pagan replacing him seems designed to drive us all crazy.

If this was The Weakest Link, I'd be screaming 'BANK' after Pagan got those 2 outs to end the inning.  That may be all he's good for.

It's temping to see a correlation here, but the best evidence indicates there likely isn't one. Injuries are way up among pitchers, but it's likely due to the fact that pitchers are throwing (on average) quite a bit harder than they used to. Almost hard to believe, but as recently as the 1980s the AVG fastball velocity was somewhere between 84 & 87MPH.

200 innings with a 92-96 mph fastball is a LOT more stress on the arm & elbow than 200 innings sitting 84-87mph. Huge amounts of torque in the delivery nowadays, more than ever.

Need to think back to before radar guns, Bert used to say alot of times it would take time to pitch at max velocity, and the Manager had to trust his pitchers,  really wonder what was said by Mahle to Rocco ?  Hope alls well ,

Don't ignore the fact that today's pitchers have better training, diet and technique.  Arm just wasn't built to pitch.
