Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Not scoring as the road team with these extra inning rules is the football equivalent of throwing an INT in OT in your own red zone
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 So we used all our best pitchers tonight just to blow a lead and probably lose now with pagan the magnificent in. And the 4 inning whiz goes tomorrow. It’s getting late very early, folks

Umpire crap usually goes both ways, it usually evens out over time. He's missed a ton of calls tonight. The pitch that just struck Kepler out has been called a ball 50% of the time. Hard enough to play this game as it is, don't need to fight the umpire as well (both teams).
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 How many pitches will it take until I can turn over to Benny Hill on AntennaTV?
Twodogs Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Good thing Fletcher bunted since that never works. Twins will now win, right?
RickOShea Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Nevin, way to take the bat automatically from one of baseball's best hitter.

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 we having fun ??????????????????????
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Ohtani completely screwed that up, no reason to advance to 2B. They win if he just stands at 1B.

I'm guessing the powers that be don't see this as much of a problem because they clearly haven't tried to address it in any practical sense. Pretty sad, if you ask me, because it's so plainly obvious to a decent chunk of the fan base.
jkcarew Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 A sure-fire way to tell if a closer is going to regress?…maybe even like end-of-career-coming-soon regression… when this FO trades for him

Winston Smith Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Pagan is money in the clutch.
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 we better score a few, pagans probably goin in

Only way Ohtani bats there is if Fletcher singles to make it first and third, and even then, I'm not sure they pitch to him.
Montdak Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I’m so sick of again and again our pitchers so dumb. Need one out for a win with a crooked number lead and they nibble and walk guys.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Pagan is making his case to get some more closer spots ? ??

jkcarew Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 That’s the worse baserunning mistake I think I’ve ever seen.
RickOShea Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 How ironic, considering the night Kepler has had at the plate, he starts the 10th on 2nd base. Only in baseball...................

They must not have found an important enough metric yet for good baserunning

Sounded like he wasn't being held at first, so I assume they're trying to stay out of the DP. Perhaps it's on Rengifo for not taking the first pitch to let Ohtani steal if they are giving it to him.
