USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I don't generally complain a lot about ball and strike calls, but tonight's HP ump is struggling a bit.

Game7-91 Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 The strike zone box is only helpful if it shows where the pitcher intended to throw it. Strike-by-intent, aka framing.

Parfigliano Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 A run scored on an out. Twins rarity
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Could that correa ball maybe went in glove in and touched the wall ?

It might help with all the bitching, but it'll never happen. And the box has nothing to do with tonight's ump struggling. I don't really know how I feel about it...mildly opposed I guess...but an electronic strike zone is inevitable. Probably pretty soon.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Oh come on Miranda. Gotta put the ball in play there.

I like it, but it would be nice if the box were dynamic. Adjust to the batter and ump tendency, agreed w/ others it does cause consternation
RickOShea Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 I would like to see the batter's ability to catch the ball as it approaches or crosses home plate, toss the ball up and take a swing at it. You know, remember when you were a kid. I think it would be quite interesting, especially the catching of the ball/pitch.

mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Electric strike zone will be invisible to viewers ? , Just have the umpires wear a sensor on each wrist , Strike -Ump raises his r.h. Ball raise his Left, no-one would ever know and the ump.s will look perfect, , i have no idea how there gonna manage the umpires, i was a ump for many many years, anyone know the minor league that uses it ??

I don't know how they will do it. But how you explained it would be fine by me, keep the umpire, remove the strike zone box. I also don't understand the technology, but I imagine the zone would adjust for players like Judge, Oneil Cruz, Alejandro Kirk etc..

RpR Verified Member Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Must make the pitchers have hemorrhoids to have double digit strike outs and be losing.
