Steve71 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Fulmer, kinda meh, but an upgrade. SGL goes back.
Battle ur tail off Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 We will take him. And for nothing basically. Not sure but looks like he is having a nice season. More arms. Now let the DFA train begin...
weitz41 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Fulmer! was hoping they got him. Already owns the divisions hitters. Nice 6-8 inning option. OK why not go for broke and get Wilson Contreas and a rental starter!
Hrbowski Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Yankees have been told they are out on Lopez, either means he is staying put or coming to the Twins
CRF Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Fulmer didn't look all that great last night, but he's been ok this season for the Tigers. He's an upgrade over some of our current pen arms.
CRF Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Just now, Hrbowski said: Yankees have been told they are out on Lopez, either means he is staying put or coming to the Twins We should know fairly soon if they were able to pull this one off. Wouldn't that be a kicker!
James Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Just now, Hrbowski said: Yankees have been told they are out on Lopez, either means he is staying put or coming to the Twins Cardinals just got Jordan Montgomery, so maybe they're out on Lopez too.
James Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Now we just let the last few trade announcements trickle in. There are always a few. If this was all the Twins did though, I'm not mad about it.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Rodon nor Contreas seem to be going anywhere, surprisingly.
PseudoSABR Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Guardians and Whitesox stand pat, essentially conceding the division.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 One starter, two relievers and a backup catcher was what I wanted... and we got exactly that. Maybe we needed an outfielder, but they'll have to make due with what they've got. Not bad, Falvine... now let's see how this team performs.
howeda7 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Blue Jays got Whit Merrifield. Would have bee a nice addition given the MASH unit in the OF.
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Tremendous haul and all for prospects. Well done.
ChineseGandalf Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 I am relieved that we did not trade Kiriloff or Miranda (and we still got good arms). I was very concerned that the front office was considering mortgaging the future for a rental (even a 1.3 yr rental) for one of those players. I am happy with where we are at for 2023 as well, as we have quite a few good arms that will be around next year, barring injury. I think Povich was the only top arm we gave up, and of course Steer was a top prospect. However, Steer was logjammed considering Polanco/Arraez/Miranda and hopefully Lewis on the team next year, as well as perhaps Correa.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Good day today. Still didn’t win the division today though. With only one new starter the 4-6 starters are pretty much cemented as Archer, Bundy snd Sanchez. Really could use a miracle with Winder, Ober, Canterino or Balazovic.

weitz41 Verified Member Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 One of the better trade deadlines for our Twins IMO.#3 starter and two late inning BP arms and most of our prospects that were traded are blocked by current and long term players Would have liked another starter and offensive catcher but all in all nice haul. Plus White Sox and Guardians didn't do anything. I hope we went from 50/50 odds of making the playoffs to 70/30. I'm sure there'll be some injuries and some ugly games ahead, but these additions should make them easier to overcome. Well done FO
