Luckily only their 7 good players had to play today. Thank goodness only Ryan and Duran had to pitch or they definitely wouldn't have won cuz all those other bad pitchers would've given up runs. You may be on to something with this being 7 guys doing all the work in the wins...

take away those 3 and its a loss

Totally. Ryan wasn't the one who gave up the lone run today. I get it. There's no arguing against the fact that those 3 did all the work today. Why do they even have a 26 man roster? They only need the 7.

that is quite enough...the bottom line is I don't think the rest of the roster is good at all

no, but they all won' t contribute every game

If they're so good as you say, then they would. Just play like the old King and his Court team. Play 7 guys. That's all they need

I'm curious...in this gif, are you the cat or the duckling?

The cat seems so relaxed, i would hypothesize the duck is working at a cat spa.

If only we were so chill.

Nice redemption from Miranda after that terrible pop up to the mound his previous AB. Thats how its done!! But on a more sobering note, Buxton is completely lost at sea these days. He is k'ing with the same frequency as our buddy Sano. Don't think he really deserved the allstar nod. He is a mess right now...for the 2nd time this season, he is contributing nothing at the plate but the odd and very infrequent long ball. Is this who he really is? A career .240 hitter who right now is barely over .200? If I'm the Twins, I'm real worried about this guy, but I guarantee they won't say they are concerned. The 'eye test' every AB speaks loudly. Are his sore knees affecting his swing, or rhythm? Right now, he's an automatic out. Plate appearances today were sad.

Attaboy Miranda! Turns out we needed to exercise a little patience with him - sprinkle in a one day long demotion - and viola, we have a MLB hitter on our hands! He's hitting .320, 6 HRs, .364 OBP since June 1st. Still not sure where his defensive home is, but he looks he's found a home in the lineup.

Put Buxton on th 10 day IL now, he is not helping the team, and he won't help the team against the SOX this weekend anyway.

then why have this message board?   We need to accept alternate viewpoints

Alternative viewpoints are fine; critical viewpoints are fine; hopeful viewpoints are fine. Incessant negativity just to be contrary isn't a viewpoint, and it's not being pragmatic, it's trolling. Keep that in mind.

And there's the hazard of using pitchers according to the "defined" role. One wonders if it may have burned the Brewers to use Hader for the save in a three-run game last night.

It made less sense to use him today though IMO. I watched the awful reds come back down 3 in the 9th against the Yankees last night. Nothing is a gimme. If it’s a defined role why would you use your closer in a tie game on the road? Seems more like that’s the hazard of using your best available guy at any point.

Geez..

Finally.

It's been setting there on a tee forever.

Well ... I was out or I would have ... it was massage day, followed by lunch with a friend :)

That's another way to think of it.

I was suspecting it was, "Let's get to the 10th, because our bullpen depth is better than the Twins."

Along with, they have not used him in the 10th a single time all season. All 31 of his appearances were in the ninth, and he's only inherited two runners, so they certainly take the approach of always starting him with a clean inning.

Five days, actually. They have Friday off as well.

They should place Buxton on the DL today. He should be told he isn’t going to the ASG and he needs to be off until 7/23. PERIOD, END OF DISCUSSION.
