MadHits Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Atta kid Hamilton. Tough spot to get your first appearance.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Let's hope we're done with pollyanna tweets like "It was a bad day but our brave hero Bundy bared down and saved the bullpen" nonsense that we heard the last time he gave up 6 runs. The dude's toast. Like @USAFChief, I unfortunately don't think this is his last start. He'll likely get at least 2-3 more starts and then 2-3 more looks out of the bullpen before he's DFA'ed. Twins will unfortunately throw away a few more games while they try and figure out what the world already knows.

LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 And, of course the Twins will fix Berrios

Unfortunately, you're probably right, but no offense meant...I really, REALLY, hope you're wrong.
twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Bundy started the year great going 3-0 with 0.59 ERA while averaging around 5 innings per start. Since then, in 6 starts he is 0-3 (assuming the Twins don't come back today) with a 9.12 ERA while only averaging 4 innings a game. It's hard to believe that Sands would be worse, and by giving the starts to a rookie the innings would at least be going towards player development.
MadHits Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Looks like a get right game for Berrios. Just wish he coulda waited for his next outing.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Gonna step out. I expect the comeback to be wellunder way when i return!
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 always great when a new pitcher fits right in seamlessly. Fall behind and give up a gopher ball
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Author Posted June 4, 2022 Third time I'm shutting off a Twins game this year. Until tomorrow, Go Twins
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 This would have been a perfect time to get pagan some low leverage work
LA Vikes Fan Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Ok, well. I guess we now know why the team wasn't rushing to get Hamilton up here. Quote
CRF Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Well Mr Wilfong...you might get your position player pitching wish to come true today. I don't know who it's gonna be, but things are trending that way.

I'm not advocating for Bundy by any means but it's not very difficult to imagine Sands would be worse.

Puckettsprintstofirst Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 Goal coming in was to win 1 out of 3. Mission accomplished. Not feeling great about tomorrow either, but playing with house money at this point I guess.
jun Verified Member Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 I hope this is the starting rotation when everyone is healthy. Ryan, Gray, Smeltzer, Ober, Winder (Archer goes to the bullpen, Bundy DFAed)

Maybe so, but if Sands can't improve on a 9+ ERA he's going to have a hard time keeping a 40 man roster spot. Finding out if Sands is a major league caliber pitcher seems like a lot more useful way to use the innings that continuing to give Bundy starts.
