I still don’t get how he looks light years ahead of our other prospects despite having zero experience against MLB pitching... Rooker hit well in college, AA, AAA, and comes up at 26 and looks like train wreck. And yet Baddoo’s plate discipline looks decent.

 

Umm, Baddoo walks 2.5% of the time, strikes out 40% of the time, has a 20.1% swinging strike percentage, and 17.3% called strike percentage.  For the league so far this year, those metrics are at 9.1%, 24.6%, 11.6%, and 16.9%.  Baddoo does not have decent plate discipline, he has 4 homers in 40 PA's, which is dramatically skewing his results.  In 4 weeks, Baddoo will be exposed for what he is, which is somewhere between a AA and AAAA player (which is not to say he can't improve, just he's not going to be a valuable piece in 2021).

They are inconsistent. Don't strike enough guys out. Walk too many. Not enough hi velocity guys. Don't have an actual closer.
