All rise!

The right honourable Umpire is entering the stadium (do the get walk

up music? if not, what should they have?)

On the charge of waiting until the last second to write a game thread intro,

how do you plead?

Squirrel!

Let the Jury take note that the defendent won't give a straight answer.

Wait... who is in this jury you're talking about?

Why, the contributors to this thread, naturally.

Oh, for a moment you were making light of the injured twins, as being "in jury"...

Hardly. That's how you see the world. Let the record show that the defendent

thinks that Movie Quotes make a good game thread intro.

Just settin' a good example: others should chime in likewise.

Ha ha. Very funny. Let the record show that silly names are attached to these threads with out

rhyme or reason.

I thought i had a reason at the time... Patience is a name as well as a virtue,

and we only gotta wait half a month to see how they do in playoffs... We made

it through 5.5 months already!

Is it really a name?

Yes. And the title character of a Comic Opera. See. i'm enriching the thread.

But worst of all, you think a Judicial System parody is appropriate for a

game thread intro?

I see your point. I will wear the cone of shame.

Foreman, will you read the verdict?

Foreman? Oh, right. This is a pourly thought out metaphor.

And you need to deliberate. While you are deliberating, you might consider

tuning into the Twins Game against Chicago, it might give you some perspective.

Hopefully Kepler is just taking a couple games to get right. LaMarre is the only weak spot in the lineup. Hopefully they jump on Detwiler quick and early. Go Twins!

No offense to LaMarre, but does anyone in Twinsland know or hear why DeAza wasn't called up to beef up the outfield? the guy can hit and he certainly can play as well as either Wade or LaMarre. Just seemed like Torreyes wasn't as necessary in the infield as the problem with the injuries in the outfield. Watching DeAza in Rochester this summer was a treat. He was a good one and he's experienced.

Must be a reason...maybe someone knows.

Magic number is 8... need 8 wins to get to 100 wins on the season... 12 games left... 100 would be nice... Sadly, there might be a half dozen hundred win teams this year. That's unheard of.

Giolito (ERA=3.41) is out. Detwiler (ERA=6.79) is in.

Baseball's a funny game: He'll probably throw a 3-hit shutout.

Disclaimer...

Um...

I'm lazy. So i don't think things through, even after the last minute. So my game thread intros are as much a surprise to me as you. I just am faced with the decision to start over, and i might have said it before... i'm lazy.

That said, the one video included was perhaps a bit of downer. Like the scene where Kevin Costner tells his (character's) daughter to turn off Harvey.

But i don't know how memorable the line: "This means something! It's important" is?

Show of hands, who, given that line, would have thought of mashed potatoes?

Anyway... we got us a game to watch!

I have yet to turn the game on! I'm going to be lagging behind everyone! I will eventually catch up to y'all! Tonight we need at least 6 Bombas!!!!!! Go Twins!!!!! :)

We've already hit 0. Only 6 to go!

Gah, c'mon Schoop. Twins didn't need a 3-run HR there, they needed a single to right.

Oh well.
