sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 ... You can imagine how our game with the Cardinals went. Our coach pulled out all the stops and we massacred them. 10-Run Rule by the 4th inning. Which prompted the Cardinals to beat up their new Yankee-equipped teammate before they slunk from the dugout in shameful defeat. The Cardinals, however, were not punished for beating up their new teammate. Apparently RedBirds aren’t held to the same moral standard as mere Dodgers. ... Might i point out some would find forfeiting preferable to getting 10 runned, especially given the chance to mislay a hat?
mickeymental Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 they hafta play the yankees again?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Still no BuxtonA time remember the words of Ernest Thayer? "Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright,The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light; And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout,..."
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Here's to Castro catching the ball tonight. Too bad Garver's bat is not in the lineup. And Gibson says...... in advance..... "Bite Me". It seems to me that one infielder moving around to different positions is enough. Don't know why it has to be 3.
LA_NorthStar Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Beat reporters are saying Buxton is out in part because he had wisdom teeth removed. The guy can catch everything but a break!
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 I hope our baseball team wins tonight.Forget winning or losing; I just hope we can be competitive with them
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Couldn't bear to watch last night after the Yanks closed to 7-5. Checked back and... pleased to see Duffey, Thorpe, Harper, and Rogers shut down those big city boys. Let's do it again.yeah, I was watching gameday on my phone and got excited with the lead... I shut it off when the Yankees started clawing back.. seems of late that they lose when I watch, so... guess I'll try and take one for the team and watch a bit less.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Beat reporters are saying Buxton is out in part because he had wisdom teeth removed. The guy can catch everything but a break! Doesn't this seem like something that should have been taken care of in November or December?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 This explains a little: Fortunately, that's a one time thing... I'd imagine by now he's at least easing back to fairly normal activities... If memory serves me right, that was unpleasant for a day or two. He might still be a little sore, but should be able to take BP and field pretty soon... unless of course there were complications like an infection. Just don't get hit in the face with a ball.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Doesn't this seem like something that should have been taken care of in November or December? potentially... it's also possible that the chin music he got when his face hit the ground diving for that fly affected them in some way negative.
LA_NorthStar Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Doesn't this seem like something that should have been taken care of in November or December?Seems like the sort of pain that can be brought on unexpectedly, say from a full speed face plant.

h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 This explains a little: Always something with Buxton. It sure would be nice if he could stay on the field. Start and stopping isn't helping his hitting.
VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 From MLB.com: This is it, this is the year the Twins are finally better than the big, bad Yankees https://www.mlb.com/cut4/the-twins-are-better-than-the-yankees
Blake Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Well, time to watch the game and choke down some grilled salmo, egg foo yung and asparagus.* *Why yes, I'm bragging. Why do you ask?
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Looking at Gibbys stats against the Yanks here at home, And it Depressed me to much to put em on here, GO TWINS
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 If we get some of this from Gibby, we have at least a 1:4, maybe even a 1:3 chance in this one.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Gibbler Nibbler off to a great start...
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I don’t think were getting another triple play tonight, Kyle, so stop ****ing walking ppl
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Hmm, that first walk might have been my fault: I forgot to take the beer out of the fridge before the game. Give me one second.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Gibson cannot nibble tonight , he needs to trust his stuff
MVP Nick Punto Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Hmm, that first walk might have been my fault: I forgot to take the beer out of the fridge before the game. Give me one second.Ahh, I managed to open one and get a sip in before that strike 3. You're welcome.
LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 2-0 count. too many pitches already, it’s like Gibson just never learns
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 You Nibwits are lame. Gibson is career 5.06 era in the first. Kinda like Radke.
