You can imagine how our game with the Cardinals went. Our coach pulled out all the stops and we massacred them. 10-Run Rule by the 4th inning. Which prompted the Cardinals to beat up their new Yankee-equipped teammate before they slunk from the dugout in shameful defeat. The Cardinals, however, were not punished for beating up their new teammate. Apparently RedBirds aren’t held to the same moral standard as mere Dodgers.

Might i point out some would find forfeiting preferable to getting 10 runned, especially given the chance to mislay a hat?

Still no Buxton

A time remember the words of Ernest Thayer?

"Oh, somewhere in this favoured land the sun is shining bright,

The band is playing somewhere, and somewhere hearts are light;

And somewhere men are laughing, and somewhere children shout,

Here's to Castro catching the ball tonight. Too bad Garver's bat is not in the lineup. And Gibson says...... in advance..... "Bite Me". It seems to me that one infielder moving around to different positions is enough. Don't know why it has to be 3.

Couldn't bear to watch last night after the Yanks closed to 7-5. Checked back and... pleased to see Duffey, Thorpe, Harper, and Rogers shut down those big city boys. Let's do it again.

yeah, I was watching gameday on my phone and got excited with the lead... I shut it off when the Yankees started clawing back.. seems of late that they lose when I watch, so... guess I'll try and take one for the team and watch a bit less.

Beat reporters are saying Buxton is out in part because he had wisdom teeth removed. The guy can catch everything but a break!

Doesn't this seem like something that should have been taken care of in November or December?

This explains a little:

Fortunately, that's a one time thing... I'd imagine by now he's at least easing back to fairly normal activities... If memory serves me right, that was unpleasant for a day or two. He might still be a little sore, but should be able to take BP and field pretty soon... unless of course there were complications like an infection.

Just don't get hit in the face with a ball.

potentially... it's also possible that the chin music he got when his face hit the ground diving for that fly affected them in some way negative.

Seems like the sort of pain that can be brought on unexpectedly, say from a full speed face plant.

Always something with Buxton. It sure would be nice if he could stay on the field. Start and stopping isn't helping his hitting.

Well, time to watch the game and choke down some grilled salmo, egg foo yung and asparagus.*

*Why yes, I'm bragging. Why do you ask?

Hmm, that first walk might have been my fault: I forgot to take the beer out of the fridge before the game. Give me one second.

Ahh, I managed to open one and get a sip in before that strike 3. You're welcome.
