Blake Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Must be the first time that's happened in baseball ever. for me, the problem is that Sano has had multiple opportunities to drive in runs in clutch situations while turning in sub-par fielding in clutch situations. Yeah, I'm down on Sano, but, hopefully, he turns things around.
notoriousgod71 Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Good thing Lord Rocco took his dominating starting pitcher out of the game at 80 ****ing pitches.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 I hate to say this- because I hate Boston with an abiding passion-- But this series really has the feel of a playoff series.
70charger Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 He should practice his clutch more...….however it is you do that. Let it out slowly until you find the friction point, then gradually add a little gas pedal. He'll be moving before he knows it.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Right, sano usually comes through in the situations and I just cherry picked one at bat. Let me pick my eyes up off the floor. They rolled square out of my headTry to find the point while you're at it.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Sano. Who could have seen that coming besides anyone who’s ever seen him play. What are his clutch stats? Lots of big hits in blowouts. Most unclutch player on the team, possibly Sano in high leverage situations--1.262 OPS, .503 wOBA, 222 wRC+, 66.7% hard hit rate, 0.0% soft hit rate.
twinsbaby Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Good thing Lord Rocco took his dominating starting pitcher out of the game at 80 ****ing pitches.Key words: Tommy John.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Not clutch hit. He just can't make contact on pitches in any ABs. That's why he always failed to be a productive hitterIf you insist. He should practice his clutch hitting then, I suppose.

bighat Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Sano is ok. Cruz can hit. Rosario is above average. The Twins are good. But this series has been a disaster so far and it's ok to be ticked about it. Big facepalm.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Try to find the point while you're at it. Be more condescending. I know I’m not as good a fan as you.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 If I knew how to become a better ball player, I wouldn’t be on twins daily. Perhaps miguel will find it out soon? Probably, I bet he'll at least practice things that are actual skills.
Oldgoat_MN Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 I appreciate Sano's OPS. Still, he gets a hit less than 25% of the time. What just happened is going to happen far more often than not. With RISP, give me Joe Mauer.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 yeah he’s great Yes, that was the general point I was making. Glad we're on the same page.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 "The Twins somehow don't score." Yikes. "It was the 'somehow' that caught my memory..." http://psychologyofwellbeing.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/dread-pirate-roberts-300x224.jpg Dick apparently not aware that the Twins are making the amazing (ly bad) look routine against the Red Sox this series...
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Nobody complain, we have a good record. Complaining is fine, endlessly complaining about every thing that doesn't go the teams way is a bit tiresome.

I once looked up Joe's numbers with RISP and they were eye-poppingly good.

Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Career or this year? Serious question. This year. Career is 1.043 OPS, .428 wOBA, 172 wRC+, 45.7% hard hit rate, 8.7% soft hit rate.

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 You can't put all the blame on one batter that inning. It was a collective choke. Garver can't be picked off there and Rosario also had a bad at bat. Garver had an unacceptable brain freeze but it's not as if we see that from him on a regular basis. The guy has worked incredibly hard to improve on every facet of his game this season and has shockingly become one of the most valuable players in the game. Rosario is a wild card in a slump. He is who he is but you can roll him out there for 150 games and know he'll be good. He's Vlad Lite and that's what he is, take it or leave it. Sano is neither one of those players.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Career or this year? Serious question.Definitely not this year.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 Good thing Lord Rocco took his dominating starting pitcher out of the game at 80 ****ing pitches.I think that was Sano's fault.
